They should put 10,000 inspectors into Iraq if necessary.

I believe the US armed forces are about to place 250,000 "inspectors" into Iraq. That should satisfy the euro-weasels.

This exercise of Powell's "exposing" Iraq could very well have had a secondary function -- as a litmus test for the U.N. and their supposed efficacy and legitimacy in the eyes of the U.S.

MEMO TO UN: You have failed miserably, so start packing.

Who was it that said:

"If you don't stand for something, you will stand for anything" or words to that effect?

I do believe that we know without question where the UN stands.

Thanks kattracks, nice post.

He's definately an an idiot. And so is Bush. Reagan, in his current state, is smarter than both of them combined.

That's good. When you have no rational argument, resort to name-calling. It's so, oh, I don't know, third grade of you.

The Feb. 14 report will be the U.N.'s last hurrah. After that, the question is not whether we can get them to go along with us, but whether we allow them to go along with us. We're going. It's immaterial whether they are.

kind of how France pulled out of NATO and forced all the buildings to be relocated. Difference is, if the US pulls out of the UN, it would collapse, where as a France-less NATO was greatly strenghtened. Im going to keep advocating the US withdrawal from the UN and retreating back to the Monroe Doctrine. Half of south/central America either uses the dollar or has pegged their currency to it, why not make it a formal alliance and transfer all the funds we waste on UN "peacekeeping" into the Americas?

Excellent analogy. You can almost understand Saddam's actions. So much of the world is enabling him, you can hardly blame him for taking advantage! The U.S. is going to have to be like the 'tough-love' parent who provides evidence of her son's drug-dealing, because the police are too lazy to do their jobs.

You read my mind LOL

BTW, I feel for you, TrappedInLiberalHell... I too am surrounded on all sides LOL I live in PA just over the border from NYC... I think my husband and I are the only conservatives in my county :( I went to rent a video the other day and this idiot teenage clerk starts ranting to me about how Bush is giving away all the government's money to the "rich jerks".... arrrrgggghhhh!! I tried explaining a little bit, even pointed out how much I make and how I am getting $1,100 less of a tax bill. She was totally blank, just looked at me with a glazed expression like I was an alien and she could NOT comprehend someone even trying to understand the tax numbers, much less APPROVE of Bush's plan.

Help LOL

Having thought we should withdraw from the UN for a long time, I find your Monroe Doctrine argument compelling but would extend our attention to those emerging democracies in Europe that have tasted dictatorship enough to know the difference. They could very well be the pillars of a "New Europe" that offsets the entropy that is France and Germany.

No other country wants it! First of all, the UN is here so that the diplomats from the worlds hell holes can enjoy food, clothing, shelter, banking, movies, theater, sewage systems, malaria free mosquitoes, drinking water, laws, free travel, wonder bra's, adult book stores, plastic surgery, important surgery, schools, and a relatively healthy outcome each morning when starting the Lexus.

The refuse of the world(and not regular imports) would not stand for the UN being anywhere else, with the possible exception of Sweden. And Sweden is not about to ruin it's neighborhood.

Villepin said France was offering Mirage IV observer aircraft to boost the technical capability for monitoring and collecting information.

Hehe..no thanks.

For those who want us out of the UN, I recommend a more subtle approach. Since the UN is on US territory, I recommend that we start charging them "rent" for the use of the space and associated services.

1 Billion per year to use the facilities.
1 Billion per year for "security". (We need to start inspecting all food, goods, and personnel that enter and leave the UN building complex.)
"Fees" for access for all non-UN personnel. For example, each media organization that wants access to the facility should pay $10K per year for an "access license" for each reporter/camera person/talking head. There should be a $5K per year "access license" for all services personnel - from pizza delivery to federal express access - for each services person.

Etcetera.

This approach has advantages because it is legal, does not get us bogged down in political recriminations about whether or not we should be in the UN (we stay), and the money goes to the government. Heck, we should specifically reduce the social security tax by a percentage equal to what we charge the UN. Doesn't matter if it isn't a lot. Just let people know that we are able to reduce their social security tax by taxing the UN. Everyone but the weenie leftists will be in favor of it, the UN will hate it, and we win no matter what!

French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin called for the inspections to be strengthened, and outlined procedures for making them more effective.

Disarming Iraq is not the role of the inspectors. They are there only to verify that Iraq has disarmed itself. That is how inspectors have been used in the past. UN inspectors spent seven years in Iraq in the 1990s and found just a small portion of Iraq's stockpile. Saddam can make and hide WMB much faster than the inspectors can find them, no matter how competent or numerous you make them.

Time to put an end to this nonsense.

Valen before what, you last banning?

Saddam here used to post under his own name. He's been banned often, but it looks like its about to happen again and Arafat will lose his position as most-banned poster.

Pocono natives are white welfare trash. The mind of a pocono native can easily be tactically read by counting the pieces of yard art and statues.

I used to work in Stamford and I would spend some time at my house at Lake Wallenpaupack. I got so tired of the natives stealing my firewood I would spend all summer stacking, I took a good oak log split well and took revenge. I drilled out the center, put in two 12 guage shotgun shells emptied of shot. I plugged the hole with a dowel and putty and strategerically placed it back in the pile.

Some GD inbred SOB that lived near the local tavern needed a new stove and some professional cleaning done!

To all you New Yorkers with a burning desire to live in the pocono's, why do you think people from Philadelphia don't go there?
