France was against preemptive action against HITLER!!!! as was a majority in England in 1939....they kept saying, "Let's let the League of Nations handle this"....that old B.S. about international law was a catch phrase of the day....the leading French newspaper carried an editorial stating that the "only real threat to world peace was the war mongering talk coming from Winston Churchill."

And what was Churchill saying?.....just that Hitler had some very bad intentions, and it would be best to take care of it now.
