President Bush... Changing lives one heart at a time.
To: Darlin'
You aren't gonna believe this but Peter Jennings was struggling to keep control as he spoke about the President's words. Oh wow .. I had company and missed it, but I did remember to hit the record botton on the VCR ..
I'll have to go watch it now ..

We all cry for the loss of these brave men and women; we cry for the beauty of this tribute to them; we cry because we also grieve with their families, especially for their children. We cry because our hearts are touched with love for the Good.
This is not a final Farewell; it is a Hello to their courage and lives always remaining in our memories.

He said that when they watched lift-off, their astronaut's little daughter said "I just lost my daddy" and that no one paid much mind to her curious phrasing.Oh my gosh. Tears all over again.

-" Did the President say the right words to comfort the families?" Unbelievably poor taste on William's part.
You know, I didn't take it that way. It just struck me that after 8 year of you know what, they are still in parse mode.
I think we as a country - and they as reporters were SO jaded after a president who would utter the "is" comment that they are still thinking we need to parse.
The damage done to this country by that impeached X42 is incalcuable. Damn him

Well, Bush got rave reviews from Brian Williams AND David Gergen.

I didn't have time to read all the posts, but there was an astronomer from the USGS on Fox two nights ago that said he saw something come off the shuttle over Bishop California and that NASA was in touch with hime. It appears the trouble may have started there and they hope to find those first pieces which may have the answer to what happened.
On another note the service was wonderful, I was fine until President Bush came out. I feel the weight of the world on his shoulders and it makes me cry.

Even though the occasion is a sad one, we're so glad you came out of Lurker mode to join us today.

Thanks for the thread. Though it is a tear-jerker, I am at work too, and appreciate the access to the service details. Thanks all.

Right. Not only do we have a great President to look up to, but he brought with him many other great leaders that are worthy of respect and admiration. They are role models at their finest. I hope your son runs for Prez when he's old enough!

May God bless the families, our President and the United States of America.

CSPAN Rules.
Seems the president is visibly aging every day as we speak.
What a noble, classy act.
The service was very moving.

I have to go to class, but I wanted to thank you for posting the thread so we can all comfort each other in these tough times.

It is beautiful. Unfortunately for those around me, I can never seem to find the right key for me to be able to sing it. but, I just sing it anyway. :)

YES....I have thought the same thing about President Bush...as I have a 9 year old grandson.....this past weekend he kept quizzing me (while we were in the middle of playing ping pong...not stopping...LOL) about the Presidents and how they were elected and who was good, etc. It was WONDERFUL to be able to talk about President Bush and tell him that he would be the greatest President in his lifetime! (Course, I had to tell him who would be known as the worst, also)

Mine already knows who was the worst, but calls him "the lie guy" (lying is BAD and WRONG in our house)
My chest swells with pride as my eyes fill with tears!
