[history]
First came the "Deadly Dozen" attack ads, a photo lineup of U.S. Catholic senators who support legal abortion rights.
Getting anyone to run the ads has been a bit of a puzzler for the American Life League, one of the nation's largest anti-abortion groups, but these folks are determined.

This from the same group of people who scream about taking away women's rights as if abortion were their only right.

read this:
"Which is why the group was delighted when two Catholic leaders in Sacramento publicly took on Gov. Gray Davis, also a Catholic, for his consistent support of a woman's right to choose. "
A woman's right to choose .... what? They just leave it at that.
I support a woman's right to choose ... choose to have sex, choose to work, choose to buy a house, choose to go to college. But I don't think ANYONE has the right to murder an innocent human being in cold-blood. That's not a choice, it's legalized genocide of the weakest, most vulnerable human persons in society.

"It is not relevant what pressures, if any, might conceivably be brought to bear on me. I am telling you now what you are entitled to know: that my decisions on amy public policy will be my own -as an American, a Democrat and a free man." Yes, he has the right to make the choices as President, but they must not be anti-thetical to the natural law. One cannot separate their public life from morality; unfortunately, it has become the status quo.
Putting aside the Catholic Church for a moment, NO Christian who professes a belief in Jesus Christ as their savior, who died for their sins, can truly say they are free. Didn't Jesus ransom us? Didn't he die FOR us? Didn't he purchase us with the price of his blood?
You can't believe in the way, the truth and the life, and then turn your back on the natural law of human dignity for political expediency. Either you believe ... or you don't. You can't pick and choose. You have but one choice ... you either stand with God, or you stand against God.
God bless.

Well, I was part of a recent incident that supports Ms. Lundstrom's suggestion that some are going overboard in their accusations. At the most recent CPAC conference, a worker from the American Life League Booth went on a rampage, yelling at The TV just after President Bush made his Columbia Disaster speach. The American Life League person was saying that President Bush was a "liberal" because he was morning 7 astronuat lives and said nothing about the thousands of babies killed by abortion. This person was engaged in argument by myself and others who indicated he was way out of line. We claimed that this was not an appropriate opportunity to raise this issue. President Bush is Pro-Life, and he is not "a liberal" as indicated by the American Life League person. While I am also a Catholic and a Pro-Life advocate, I cannot stand by when someone makes such outrageous statements. I told the person from ALL that Bush is not King Bush, he is President Bush and he can't just make laws on his own.

Abortion foes cross line with attacks on elected officials An attack would be if the abortion foes physically assaulted elected officials, which is the image this dishonest columnist wishes to conjure up in the minds of her readers. But, as RAT Patrol aptly noted, Ms. Lundstrom verbally attacks elected officials all day long. But apparently only the politically-correct journalists are allowed to engage in such activities without dangers to society. And what would those dangers be?
And so California is poised to be the next exhibit in the corrosive world of abortion politics, where one side is already eating away at the separation of church and state.
And now hypocrisy followed by ignorance (with libs, the two walk hand in hand). The Constitution forbids the state from endorsing a religion. It does not prohibit religions from attempting to influence politics (unless they accept tax-free status, in which case they make themselves beholden to the tax man).

Heck, if I was there I may have joined you. Yes, there is a place for debate, but we don't attack our own.
President Bush has been the most pro-life President we have had in years. He has been more forthright in his statements against the Culture of Death ... and he's used that phrase repeatedly.
Ending abortion is partly about changing laws, but mostly about changing the hearts and minds of the American people. Through respectful conversation, prayer, perseverance, hope and the mercy of God our Father, we can and will stem the tide.
Make no mistake about it ... abortion must and should be illegal. There is no moral justification for killing the most innocent in society for convenience sake. But at the same time, this is a multi-front war and there is a time and place for anger, and for love.
President Bush has been a rock for Life, and I commend him.

Bishop Weigand was not attempting in influence politics. He was speaking about people calling themselves "good Catholics" while publicly denouncing the teachings of the Catholic Church. If Davis believes that being Catholic is important for his soul, that his religion ... and God ... are more important than man-made rules, then he would willingly change his position on abortion or refrain from Communion. No one is forcing Davis to remain a Catholic.
I don't want to chase people from the church. But I do want people to stop running around saying they are good Catholics, and then expanding abortion laws so more innocent babies can be slaughtered.

This is not the first time a California politician's faith has been challenged over abortion, with Communion dangled out like spiritual bait.
Bait?

The good liberals are just upset that the Catholic/abortion gravy train is drawing to a close.
After all, they don't mind the Church being involved if it is politically expedient for them. They certainly have never made an issue of the "separation of Church and State" when liberal Catholics make use of religion to support abortion. No. What they mind is that the Church appears to be ready to put a stop to the abuse of the Catholic religion in the name of abortion "rights."
I, for one, hope that Davis and the rest of his ilk are excommunicated. It's about time Catholics put a stop to this.

I just think the comparison of the Eucharist to bait is at the very least a really nasty blow. As if this wasn't the ulimate Sacrament.

Gov. Gray Davis, also an apostate
Catholic, for his consistent support of a woman's right to choose to rip her children into little, bloody pieces.
There. Much more accurate.
