There goes the neighborhood. I know that bar, and the crime scene, well.

IIRC, he got manslaughter and not murder because he essentially confessed, and didn't tax the prosector's office by putting up any defense.

Also, there was no dispute that she went into the park late that night with him willingly. That would weigh on the side of consensual sex gone awry as opposed to the technical definition of murder.

Her parents went through unmitigated hell. Chambers' only decent act was disappearing into the prison system quickly.

Seems to me there needs to be a change in the penal system. There should be NO time off for good behaviour and there should be ADDED time for bad behaviour. This piece of garbage has tons of infractions while he was in prison and should not be released from prison.

"His other offenses added seven years to his jail time. If he had been a model prisoner he would have served half the time."

I know. IMO, that only makes it worse. The guy has remained consistantly in trouble and says he may kill again. There is NO WAY that any but the looniest of lefties could believe that he's changed his ways after having 'paid his debt to society'.

I hate to say this, but I hope he winds up facedown in the river...SOON.

He can team up with Joey Buttafuoco. Maybe Joel Steinberg can join them when he's released from prison too.

Let's all bear in mind that the same demagogues who let animals like this out among the law-abiding populace with their revolving-door "justice" system are the same politicritters who have deliberately disarmed that self-same populace.

Terror reigns when madness wears the crown.

"Doesn't sound good. He regrets NOTHING ... . Expect to see him to kill again."

He's a sociopath more than likely, and he's probably filled with anger and hate for having been locked up in the first place. Probably doesn't even think he did anything wrong and that he's been the victim all this time. I agree with you that he will be in trouble again before too long. Inmates who are about to be released tend to get cocky and arrogant (if they aren't already). They think that even if they misbehave, nobody can do anything to them to keep from getting out. It's kind of like the same behavior that got them into trouble in the first place. That's why most of them end back up in prison again.

The movie didn't paint her as the brightest bulb in the box. Her friends tried to warn her. She thought they were jealous.

I never saw the movie. I conceive of it all as a boozy haphazard tragedy.

The movie is permanently attached to the women's cable network (forget the actual name). I think it was made for television, with all that implies. Still, I've seen worse (but only to save my marriage).

More like 33%, which is the average time a person serves in prison.

Recidivism is 68%

On another note. We will face a final parole hearing on March 12, 2003 for my Jeremy's sociopathic killer. Should you care to PROTEST this early release you can find the necessary info here: Throw Away the Keys

There's no legal way to keep him in, at least none of which I'm aware.

What do you want to bet he has a gaggle of groupies waiting for his release. I heard Linda Fairstein say that he's about as "preppie" as Ted Bundy. He got by purely on his looks.(personally I think he looks "soft")
