I had the impression from his use of the term "RESOURCES" available from the 16 team members, that it could include many things besides a 'shuttle' for retrieval. Could be staff, funds, technological support, etc.

The 60 degree rise itself isn't necessarily the destructive part, but it does show that the tiles were not working as they should. It was an anomoly, and indicates some sort of failure. However, it is a chicken-or-the-egg situation: was the rise in temp the cause of the failure, or a result of something else?

As far as one sensor showing a change over the others, I don't know. If a breach took place very locally, perhaps it only impacted one sensor, who knows.

I'm glad you understand sampling techniques and rates - you certainly know more than I do. As for the shuttle's sampling rate, I don't know.

I was so proud of the every day people who went out and just stood by those pieces of the shuttle.

Me too.

Did you know Ashleigh Banfield is back on MSNBC? I saw her this morning in Texas talking to some good Texas men on ATV's who had a plan to scout the country for parts and then mark the spot and inform the authorities.

Is that a tire? I saw that on TV yesterday with people standing next to it, talking, and nobody said it was a tire!

Could that be a shuttle tire???

It's probably one of the spherical tanks. I believe they are wrapped in fiberglass, and the "fuzz" on it is delaminated and shredded fiberglass.

No looke more like something to do with fuel or something like that. you can see what's left of a pipe and that shredded stuff is the insulation surrounding whatever it is.

That pic is showing broken for me. I saw something on the t.v. last night that looked like part of one of the thrusters in the middle of a wooded area.
