Sign idea. How about something like -
Hey Liberals! We don't want to attack the people of Iraq, we just want to ABORT SADDAM. You don't have a problem with an ABORTION, do you?

David Gold just mentioned our Freep again (Sun. 2/9/03 at 1:40 pm). Unfortunately, he had someone from Sacto on the line too -- evidently they're doing a counter up there on Saturday the 15th, whereas ours in SF is on Sunday the 16th. I sure hope people don't get mixed up with the dates!

Hey Jerez! Not to worry bud, we're first and foremost plugging the Freep in SF on the 16th. I apologize for not making it clearer, but it was my first time on radio and as you could imagine, I was just a little nervous. But, we're on the case and working everyday to get the word out for the SF event. Thanks for your concern Jerez and I'll be looking forward to meeting you at the Freep. Your fellow Freeper, Patrick the Patriot.

comwatch you and STL are braver than I am. I get sweaty palms just thinking about the radio.
However, I've just emailed 25 Flyers to a variety of veterans.
IF YOU CAN'T MAKE THE RALLY, PLEASE HELP ADVERTISE IT!
EMAIL THE FLYER!
DROP IT OFF AT A VETERAN'S HALL
do something!

Pinging ...
Like the Freep Stark idea. Yes on showing the colors!!
Also, several Freepers dropped into the Chat room today and yesterday... you have time on news breaks to say hi and get feedback?
I'll email you on the line-up for Saturday and Sunday event reporters. Thanks again for all you do.

Good job in refuting Mr. pointy. I tried to do the same, but you did a much better job!

I wasn't at that counter-protest, but I've seen the pics of FReepers being herded into City Hall to avoid the rabid Palestinians. It got pretty intense last time, but we didn't feel the need to retreat. Hopefully this time, we can stand our ground, but as always, safety first.
About the lurking DU'ers, you're right. It may be a little late this time around, but for future reference, let's consider certain communications more appropriate for FReepmail.

Thanks for the compliment, STL. Just doing my job here. As for the previous rally where we FReepers were bum-rushed, that rally (where we were bum-rushed) was a couple of rallies ago. It was a pro-islamonazi terrorist rally we were FReeping that day and the ones who rushed us were young middle-eastern hothead types. This came as a huge surprise to everyone as I'm sure you can imagine. (/sarcasm) Anyway, my point is that the typical stinky, cultural marxist, Bay Area hippie re-tread is, generally speaking, not a physical threat. Unpleasant to look at, to be sure, but not physically dangerous. We'll be on our toes, of course, but I don't expect any trouble next Sunday. As for the lefty idiots "taking the hill" first, last time they deliberately intermingled with us and tried to drown out our message with their inane chants and ridiculous signage. We can expect the same this time so it doesn't really matter who gets there first. Wherever we are, I expect our opponents will want to come be with us. And who can blame them? We rock! See you there.

Eagan [MN] man makes 'Liberate Iraq' signs to counter antiwar ones
FreeRepublic version of above poster courtesy of Me.
To downlaod a printable PDF format click on picture. Makes sign 3 feet wide by 1.5 feet high. Suitable for rallies. Most printers use PDF files for their plates. Take to your local printer and have a bunch made. To use on your printer turn on the collate option when using regular 8.5x11 paper.
Make copies and distribute everywhere.

This is why I'm not really bothering to look into the permit issue. We can handle 'em!

Rock and Rogue.... we'll be right there with ya!!!
I just had a brain fart... My overtaxed mind just flashed a couple dozen Freepers on the City Hall Steps wearing gas masks... Why? You said it: "... my point is that the typical stinky, cultural marxist, Bay Area hippie re-tread is, generally speaking, not a physical threat. Unpleasant to look at, to be sure, but not physically dangerous."
The Press: "Why are you weraring gas masks?" Freeper: (pointing to the unwashed masses "Haven't you been over there yet? We're worried the wind might shift!" or "Gee, I guess one skunk doesn't recognize another by their scent, huh?"
LET'S ROLL.....
