For the second time in two years, President Bush spoke to console and grieve with the rest of the nation in remarks regarding the tragic loss of the space shuttle Columbia. Bush left Camp David early this morning and returned to the White House as he followed the events over the Texas sky. In his speech, Bush succinctly expressed the fears of by stating, 'The Columbia is lost; there are no survivors.' The President exchanged condolences with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as the first Israeli astronaut lost his life with six other Americans. All federal flags have been lowered to half-staff.
God bless the families of the brave souls who have joined the heavens they so willing chose to explore.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: The same Creator who names the stars also knows the names of the seven souls we mourn today. The crew of the shuttle Columbia did not return safely to Earth; yet we can pray that all are safely home.

A somber day indeed. I missed the President's remarks but read the transcript. His selection of scripture was perfect!

A somber day indeed. I missed the President's remarks but read the transcript. His selection of scripture was perfect! His actual speech was more fleshed out than the "statement". I want a transcript of the actual speech, which was one of his best. I was proud to see my president quote scripture and speak so eloquently

God Bless our President.
God Bless our Nation.

For those of you who didn't hear or read the remarks by the President, here's some of it:
"Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all these? He who brings out the starry hosts one by one and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing."
Yes, he does look tired. His emotions have to be all over the place. Not an easy job he has.

Lord, he looks weary. How much more can he deal with? This is another very sad day for America and for our President. I am so sad.
