By Monty K. Fisher
There's a new star over Texas Its the symbol of courage unsurpassed There's a new star over Texas Its is a fire that will last
It holds the souls of the Brave That gave all and now are free Its the symbol of what they gave To find new things for you and me
They left us in a flash at dawn And served their duty well They have been taken far beyond 'Twas just the shell on fire that fell
They were out to achieve A purpose for you and I Searching for things in which to believe Beyond this Earth and Sky
They traveled so far above And watched us fighting down below And may have glimpsed the Love That engulfs the Earth you know
They saw how small we are And I'm sure a prayer was their last thought As they became a living star That we might fight the last war to be fought
They were the lucky ones you see No longer trapped down below They saw it all as God and Angels see That in this hate we may never know
So lets thank them today And ask them to do all thay can To send spirits with wisdom our way To open the eyes of earthbound Man.
Thank you Shuttle crew We will remember you.

They were not timid, hapless or uneducated. They were the brightest and most vital among us. They were bold and eager to explore. They were acutely aware of the risks they took, but did so willingly, for the good of all mankind. We have lost seven of our best
in a flash of light. It is, in some way fitting that they should remain among the stars.

Junto society page is almost perfect - need to lose the top graphic with the black mask atf though.
That has no business on a tribute page to our Astronauts.
Other than that - I thank you for your tribute and I am sure the astronauts do also.

I would suggest that there will be a monument built regaurding this tragedy over Texas and I would be the first to enjoin and promote such a project.

Very Nice. Thanks for posting this.
I feel that Charles Dickens said it good for these 7 brave astronauts:
It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done;
it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known.

Thanks for the ping, Johnny. Tragedy inspires the most beautiful creations - comforting the most skeptical spectators. God plants a seed.

Thanks for the ping.
This is so sad....
Let us all band together, as Americans, to be strong, strong for them...strong for their families...and strong for our country.
Thank God for all the good in this world. May we all be able to see it, each day we are here. And may God's love wrap around us, when we return home again.
And God Bless our dear President, who bears the weight of all this and so much more, on his shoulders.
God Bless our military, who fight to give us our freedom. Today, it is clear that part of our freedom meant the ability to fly...fly up into the heavens and explore.
