Rather surprised there is anything left after such incineration.

I'm still in shock over the whole thing. We knew that they couldn't have survived. We knew it would come to this...

Did they give a location? Even a state?

I've been stoically resisting the urge to weep all day. The thoughts generated by this report leave me unable to do so.

Rather surprised there is anything left after such incineration.I hear you. Intrestingly, they were found by a hospital employee on his/her way to work.

I've been having a tough time, too.
Was glued to the TV and FR all morning.
Went for a haircut, and my 39-year-old hairdresser just had her last chemo treatment for breast cancer. She's now awaiting surgery in about four weeks. Now has found out this week that her Mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer, too.
On top of that, there was a lady there, recently retired from Vandenberg, whose daughter was due to get out of the Army, but got extended. She got deployed last week, and was supposed to be able to call her Mom, but has not been heard from. Her Mom has no idea where she is.
I've been trying to hold it in all day, but I think I'm going to just let it go and sob.
What a day...

TX/LA border. I saw a weather radar image that showed the debris field and it appeared to be centered over Shreveport, LA.

Juat saw on Fox that they were found on the TX/LA border.

AdminModerator: I have no idea why you took this out of breaking. Not everyone has time to stay glued to the one 1000+ discussion thread. This is as breaking as it gets.

I saw a weather radar image that showed the debris field and it appeared to be centered over Shreveport, LA. I noticed that the weather radar returns showed the debris field moving further to the east, even an hour or more after NASA lost telemetry. I think the radar was a picking up a cloud of vaporized solids such as aluminum, which remained aloft after the solid debris rained down.

Don't worry about. I've been crying all day... and I don't cry. I saw my father cry for the first and only time on the day of the Challenger disaster. He had just gotten off his shift as a GC in the control center and I was home sick wih the flu. Sadly, he will retire soon, and this was to be the last mission in which he would be responsible for shuttle communications.
