Bump. Noonan writes so naturally, it reads almost like the natural progression of a conversation. She's amazing.

Welcome, friend. No one says it quite like Peggy. She truly captures the mood, every time.

"When the former administration left, it was more an exorcism than an election."

You have given words to a feeling that I could not express until you framed it. Thank you.

I cried tears of relief when President Bush said the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2001. It was like a dark clouds eight years long had been lifted off my shoulders.

Thank you for the ping. Ms. Noonan's prose brought tears to my eyes. Our President certainly has had his hands full. So many challenges, tragedies ... his strength is amazing.

Buzz Aldrin captured it this morning. He tried to read a poem about astronauts on television. He read these words: "As they passed from us to glory, riding fire in the sky." And tough old Buzz, steely-eyed rocket man and veteran of the moon, began to weep.

I didn't see Buzz Aldrin on the television yesterday but there are tears in my eyes now. I'm proud to be a part of the NASA family. It's going to be a very somber day at work tomorrow.

Thanks for the ping, John!

We are truly blessed to have George W. Bush as our President and for having Peggy Noonan to put it into appropriate words!

It is from the song, "A Fire In The Sky." It's available for download at MP3.com

You know, I hadn't realized the words were from the song A Fire in the Sky. While this may seem a little morbid to some, due to my recent "condition" I've been occassionally paying attention to what songs I want played at possible [very far in the future] memorial service. Believe it or not, the only two songs I have picked out so far are God Bless America and A Fire in the Sky. I kid you not. Cross my heart and hope to...well, maybe we won't go that far. :)
