Iraqis Call Shuttle Disaster God's Vengeance Sat February 1, 2003 02:08 PM ET
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Immediate popular reaction in Baghdad on Saturday to the loss of the U.S. space shuttle Columbia and its seven-member crew -- including the first Israeli in space -- was that its was God's retribution on Americans. "We are happy that it broke up," government employee Abdul Jabbar al-Quraishi said.
"God wants to show that his might is greater than the Americans. They have encroached on our country. God is avenging us," he said.
Car mechanic Mohammed Jaber al-Tamini noted Israeli air force Colonel Ilan Ramon was among the dead when the shuttle broke up shortly before its return to earth.
"Israel launched an aggression on us when it raided our nuclear reactor without any reason (in 1981), now time has come and God has retaliated to their aggression," Tamini said.

There are always people on the fringe who think we deserved it for one reason or another In a book called Reagans War, the author went around the world to find out why other nations hate America.
Most knew America through the liberal press and Hollywood. That's all they know about us. That's all they've ever seen. They have no idea that 1/2 of the country is NOT liberal, because the liberal press has controled the airways forever.
Only now is the rights message getting out across America. Hopefully, it will get out into the world. Only when this liberalism is defeated will there be world piece. Maybe not "we" are to blame, but the facist left really is.
Remember, those who are attacking the US grew up under Clintonism - who deployed troops around the world 40 times in 8 years.
Then there's the forced thought police legislation. Obey Clintons rules, or the nations funding ends. They had no choice, and Clintonia was the world they were forced to obey. It's a no wonder they hate America if this is all they know of us.

As I said, not in this incident, but in the area of His protection, I think we are not protected by Him as we were before blessing abortion in this country.So prior to Roe v. Wade, nothing bad happened to America, I guess. Is that what you're saying? (I will give you credit for not believing there is a relationship between abortion and this incident today.)

God has always protected our nation which had it's laws reflect mostly the Ten Commandments.
We, with abortion long ago broke "Thou shall not kill the innocent" in a big way.
Would you expect a nation who has that going on by law to enjoy complete immunity from correction?
We have not been a God fearing country as a whole for a while.
That was my point, not anything to do with the disaster here or your faithfull reading of the Taliban text.
The sand people of the moon-god though are in a whole class of evil of their own, beyond what we do with abortion, but we are no prize in the eyes of God IMO due to all the abortions in America.
