They serve Satan.

I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in some rhetoric no doubt sponsored by the Saddam-infested Iraqi media.

When we had that bad earthquake in Turkey, the zealots called it a punishment from God.
I suppose, if they meant that the extensive damage was the natural end result of carelessness, then they might have been right, but that's not how they meant it of course.

When we kill the innocent (babies) do we expect smiles, protection and blessings from God? NO
This is just a disaster and I don't think this is the hand of God.
But what I agreed with the other Freeper on was that we probably lost our umbrella of protection from God due to our national behavior.
Remember that God before walked his people through SAND for 40 years till a whole generation died when God was mocked.
When we destroy His creation, do we expect no punishment?
But I would not say this exact issue is the hand of God Chad.

Saddam, we are coming for you. You will rue the day you were born. Perhaps we will turn you over to your own people,...You know, that's a really good idea! That way he doesn't die as a martyr at the hands of America and our alies, but at the hands of his own oppressed people. Great idea!!! Talk about losing honor in the eyes of the Arab world!!
To: Howlin
Thanks - I did figure out who it was and did a search on them. At least it didnt' seem to be a troll. :-) I know America ain't perfect but sheesh... I can't imagine implying the Iraqi's don't have a log in their eye to be able to judge American morality.

There are always people on the fringe who think we deserved it for one reason or another but there also seems to be a more general conversion of grief emotion into anger. I would love to find a good reason to attack Iraq, but "they were gloating" is propagandistic at best.

>>but alas, there have been posts this morning blaming the columbia disaster on the fact that there were minorities on board, now I see my fellow freepers blaming it on Abortion (i.e. God is punishing us...) <<
Other than that idiot Joyful here, I haven't seen any of those and I certainly join you in the sickening feeling if that is the reaction anywere here at FR. I was staying with the original 2,000+ post and saw only compassion, tears, some good scientific analysis, and angry reactions from those of us who checked over at DU and were amazed at the evil which lurks there.
Sometimes it is hard to tell the extreme Right from the Islamofascists from the moderate (much less extreme) Left.

Yep--- we do have abortions in this country. they have them in every country. In contrast, Iraq kills *everyone* that they don't find convenient.

Did we expect them to say otherwise?Exactly. There's no surprise when a-holes act like a-holes. If Iraqis had said something decent and consoling, the shock would have staggered us. With them, there's no danger of that, though.

It's been a rough morning for all of us, I think... It has certainly brought out the worst in a lot of people here - a lot of 'true colors' beiing displayed by people I will never be able to look at the same way again...

Like I told Chad, this incident was not due to the hand of God, but I agree with the other Freeper that the umbrella of protection God gives this country has long passed when wee started to kill His creations before or right at birth.
God would not smile during an abortion.

What the heck are you talking about? Because we are friends with Israel God has it in for us? Like he doesn't love Israel too, or Israel is God's enemy? Just what exactly are you implying?

Heck, some of the "Christians" on this thread should read Jesus' words. That's exactly what I thought. Apparently, plenty of "Christians" must figure that the Saviour doesn't know what he is talking about, but this one still bets the whole farm that He does.

AMEN! The disgusting followers of the Moon God need to learn exactly what the phrase Baghdad delenda est followed rapidly by Mecca, Jeddah and Medina Delenda est truly mean. The kind folks in the US Military can show these low life Arab POS's a foretaste of the Hell they will soon inhabit.
