Shuttle has NOT been heard from or seen on tracking radar since 0800Hrs CDT. No contact at Merrit Island tracking station, no voice comm...DEVELOPING.

I hope Freepers and DUers can get along on this one. It is a national, even a global, tragedy. This was an accident, plain and simple. There are a few nuts at DU that are formulating their conspiracy theories, just as there are here at FreeRepublic. Neither, I believe, are representative of either forum. Peace. If the shuttle re-entered sideways, it was more than likely spinning out of control before it re-entered.

I imagine the Space Shuttle fleet will be grounded forever. It may be a long time until a new spaceship flies, and it also means the end of the Space Station.

Hon, if I were you I would start back-handing them. This is beginniing to give me a dejavous of having kids fighting in the car going places. Just because he's a Democrat doesn't make him wrong on everything. On this, he's exactly right. The angles on re-entry are very precise, and if they're off, well, you've seen what can happen.

Please see the vapor trail coming from the south. This was not the track that the shuttle was taking.(West to East) This is as clear as it gets. My heart dropped when I saw this image!!

What are your thoughts?.
