"8.Furnishing Firearms, ammunition, or weapons to minors"
think Colombine Think taking your kid to a shooting range ... even on your own ranch or farm. Think of leaving a gun with your children because they get home before you do, and you want them protected. Think of giving a kid a 22 for Christmas.

I wonder if there's any
coincidence that there's a bill up in the legislature to provide for concealed carry in Nebraska (only about the fourth or fifth time).
The timing's just about right to make one suspect it.

I think your description of "nasty" hits it right on the head. The reaction I got from the State Patrol officer was really odd. It was almost like he was instantly suspicious of me. His attitude was one of "why would you even ask that?"
Hopefully, they will be successful with the legislation this time, but I won't hold my breath.

Why don't you get real?
8. Furnishing Firearms, ammunition, or weapons to minors.
19. Attempting any felony OR any of the above misdemeanors.
Let's "get real." RICO was passed to go after the Mafia, and was used against Pro-Life groups. Asset Forfeiture was passed to go after the loot of billionalre narco traffickers, and is used today as legal theft agains John Q Public.
#8 will be used to arrest you for letting your 17 year old son go plinking on your farm with a .22 rifle!
If you don't believe it, then you have been sleepwalking through the 1980s and 90s.

That's exactly right. "Furnishing firearms to minors" means taking your kid to the firing range.

When I was 11 years old, I had saved enough money from my paper route to buy a single-shot .22 rifle. My dad took me to Sears & Roebuck and I bought a J.C.Higgins (made by Stevens). I guess we won't be able to do that anymore if the socialists in government have their way. It sure is different now than it was in the fifties. Different, not better.

Don't make the same mistake we did, Downunder. Target criminals, not responsible gunowners, if you really want to reduce crime. Great post!
Bump.

Have you read Liddy's new book: "When I Was a Kid, This Was a Free Country?" yet? (I haven't, but need to.)

And you can bet they will go to any lengths to enforce it, including undercover agents hiding in trees with video cameras to catch your 17 year old son with a .22 more than 25 feet from you.
Meanwhile, squatter camps of criminal invader illegal aliens are camped in the vacant lot behind police HQ.

In the 50s and 60s, kids in New York City took their .22 rifles on the subway, on their way to school. There were fewer school shootings then than now - and today about six of the facts presented in the above sentence would be cause for panic attacks by the gun grabbers, if not actual SWAT team response. Insanity!

"My brother tells me, you have to get a permit to buy a pistol in the City of Lincoln"
What states allow you to purchase a pistol without a permit?

I wasn't around in the "good old days" but I fear that I missed out. Luckily for me my Grandpa is a great guy. He gave me my first gun when I was about 11 years old. A Ruger 10/22 with scope. I still have it.

What is lincoln's stance on fireworks
It's harsh. Lincoln does not allow any fireworks that go bang. Only smoke and light type fireworks. They used to allow the fun stuff. It's that "ratchet effect" again.

I hate to see things go this way. We may not win this but it's our job to fight these bastards every step of the way.
