Scott Ritter in Saugerties NY (After Action Report)

Posted on 01/31/2003 7:06:48 PM PST by 76Tiger

Watch Albany Channel 6 (WRGB) 11 o'clock news. 76Tiger was interviewed by Joe Gambino (no, a different "family") and asked for a reaction to Scott Ritter's talk at the Saugerties Senior Center tonight. Although I'm not sure how much will survive the editing process, I told Joe that Ritter was inconsistent, political and now lacked credibility. Joe pressed me on Ritter's credibility and whether the recent disclosures influenced my opinion. I responded by saying that during the 90's, Ritter was very vocal and rabid against the Iraq regime, and now he's their biggest cheerleader, claiming that they can't possibly harbor WMDs. I speculated that given his reported sexual proclivities, perhaps an Iraqi intelligence agency obtained some incriminating evidence against him while he was in Iraq and have flipped him.

I'll add more reporting after I unwind and reconstruct the evening. Suffice it to say that if you've been wondering what became of all the long-haired graying 60's war protestors, wonder no longer. It was sickening.

At one point he even made a snide comment about Bush not having been elected, rather he was anointed.

So he's one of the "mob rule" socialists. Could have guessed. You'd think he'd have read the Constitution AT LEAST once in his life.

Ritter made a particularly nasty comment about 9/11 being the Bush administration's Richstag fire and the imperialist intentions of world domination of the Bush administration.

And the Muslim terrorists that flew the planes into the buildings had nothing to do with it. He uses left wing logic like a real pro.

Scott Ritter's talk at the Saugerties Senior Center tonight.

Senior Center? Perhaps when he booked this he thought they meant high school seniors.

He should have used Sprint.

Saugerties in near Woodstock. I'm guessing they never left....Ritter better not be on Hunter's slopes tomorrow, as we all know how that ice can cause some unexpected face plants.

I saw a documentary on Woodstock. You're correct. Mant never left. They still wear beads and headbands to this day.

Damn, I tuned into FR too late, I had WNYT 13 on and their reporter interviewed one of the leftie pukes! I've gotta' stop watching that leftie station. All the pukes they interviewed were commies.

Yup they all looked like the 60 commie protesters and they've never grown out of it.

Good for you, man you must have quite a constitution to have sat through that crap.

None in that crowd care about the messenger, they just want to hear a cheerleader for their un American views. Yeah, they hate this country, but hey they'll accept the pay and/or welfare checks though.

Thanks for your report. PS did they show you?

These people are scary. They have a whole different agenda and it is NOT one that serves America! I was looking for something today and ran across this site. Un-freakin-believable. These people need to be locked up and medicated!

Sue also announced at the start of Ritter's talk that no questions would be entertained on "inappropriate" topics not related to the war in Iraq, and that no statement of political views during the q&a would be allowed. At this point, a small commotion ensued when an audience member insisted on questioning Ritter about the sexual misconduct allegations. He was escorted out by the local police.

Naturally, all of the q&a speakers (I left after 30 minutes of the q&a to do the interview) were pro-Ritter and were likely pre-selected and political.

Most galling of all was Ritter's whining about the behavior of CNN, MSNBC and Fox. He claimed that they were against his message and that they had the audacity to insist upon having another guest with an opposing view for balance.

He also needs a lesson in government. He droned on and on about this being a democracy and that we have to tell the President what he should do in our name. Wrong answer Ritter. We're a Constitutional Republic, and we elect our leaders for their judgment and leadership (except Hillary) when presented with information not necessarily available to us.

There looked to be about 300 or so. The building is rated for 240, and the officials decided to not press the matter. I did not pick up any of the fliers - too afraid to touch them. I did consider donating my ABC gum when they passed the plate looking for donations.

Saugerties Committee for Peace and Social Justice? Are they attached to the IAC? I see where they signed as endorsers for "A Call for a Peoples International Tribunal for Justice for Mumia Abu-Jamal". link

Who'd of thunk it?

I was looking for something today and ran across this site. Un-freakin-believable.

They're so much like small children. They start little "clubs" they join and have group temper tantrums together.
I don't understand how they feel anyone would, or could, take them seriously.
By the end of my day, I'm all kidded out from having small children of my own. I can't imagine having to live around a bunch of adult bodies with child minds. It would drive anyone nuts.
Thank GOD they're a small minority.

Yep. I'm sure alot of the leftovers were at this event at the Senior Center. Funny that they are now attending events with the likes of Scott Ritter headlining. Kinda shows you that some people never learn.
