Scott Ritter in Saugerties NY (After Action Report)
Posted on 01/31/2003 7:06:48 PM PST by 76Tiger
Watch Albany Channel 6 (WRGB) 11 o'clock news. 76Tiger was interviewed by Joe Gambino (no, a different "family") and asked for a reaction to Scott Ritter's talk at the Saugerties Senior Center tonight. Although I'm not sure how much will survive the editing process, I told Joe that Ritter was inconsistent, political and now lacked credibility. Joe pressed me on Ritter's credibility and whether the recent disclosures influenced my opinion. I responded by saying that during the 90's, Ritter was very vocal and rabid against the Iraq regime, and now he's their biggest cheerleader, claiming that they can't possibly harbor WMDs. I speculated that given his reported sexual proclivities, perhaps an Iraqi intelligence agency obtained some incriminating evidence against him while he was in Iraq and have flipped him.
I'll add more reporting after I unwind and reconstruct the evening. Suffice it to say that if you've been wondering what became of all the long-haired graying 60's war protestors, wonder no longer. It was sickening.

Good job about providing a "reasonable" position regarding Ritter's vulnerability to foreign intelligence influence.

Good Job, well done, fair and factual ! Ritter ought to be the poster boy for goobermint not granting or removing security clearances IMO. His perversion clearly compromised any crediability he ever "appeared" to possess .
He's ruined his own life and all that he touches from here on out based on his stalking of children and attempts to play CYA with lies and disinformational spin regarding his collection of intelligence on terrorist nations. Traitor is a word that to kindly describes this POS gundecker in my opinion.
Stay Safe !

Here are some examples of Ritter's inconsistency.
He claimed that Iraq does not possess any viable WMDs, in fact he just about guarenteed it, yet he stated that the 90's UN inspectors located chemical, biological and nuclear (probably meant partial) weapons and that 95% or so were blown up.
He testified before Congress after resigning from the team in 98 that Iraq could easily rebuild it's capabilities, yet claimed tonight that they pose no clear and present danger to the US since it would take a large elaborate facility to produce enough WMDs to do us harm, and such a facility would have been noticed by our satellite assets. Yet just in case these facilities were overlooked, we must have UN inspectors to find them and destroy them with help from the (now) cooperative Iraq government.
He conceded that Iraq has terrorist ties, probably with OBL, and if Saddam were to be found with WMDs and in particular passed them along to terrorists, Saddam's head should be on a platter. Yet he then accused Bush, Dr. Rice and Donald Rumsfeld of lying to the American public in order to help Bush save domestic face on his "mandatory regime change in Iraq" policy. At one point he even made a snide comment about Bush not having been elected, rather he was anointed.
Ritter made a particularly nasty comment about 9/11 being the Bush administration's Richstag fire and the imperialist intentions of world domination of the Bush administration.
Believe me, I'm not making this up. And the hippies cheered...
I'll work at obtaining a copy of the taped talk or a transcript and provide more details later. I need a hurl break...

Actually, my theory is that the Iraq gestapo (or whatever they're called) had the girly goods on him in Iraq and blackmailed/flipped him, and he started speaking publicly in support of Iraq. At that point, one of our alphabet agencies leaked the information about his girly activities in the US in order to discredit him.

I just wonder if it took the Iraqi gestapo to do this or if it was related to the hard-left part of the democRAT party. Either way, the fact that it leaked was good - it put doubt in the credibility of the idiot, as if his past statements didn't do the same anyway.

Wonder what the pedophile traitor got paid for his lies tonight? Actually Sue Rosenberg of the Saugerties Committee for Peace and Social Justice claimed that he was "donating" his valuable time. Naturally he was hawking copies of his camel dung in the sand documentary about Iraq for $15/copy.

After looking at my posts, I can see that I'm not really explaining my position all that well. I think that either the Iraqis or the Dems or some other leftist/socialist group had the goods on Ritter and held them over his head in an effort to get him to support Iraq. But, the news leaked, perhaps as you say with the help of some certain alphabetical organization, and his credibility was suddenly (and rightly, given his past proclamations) in question. So, the bad guys tried to blackmail Ritter, it worked until the good guys dug up the dirt, and now a potential connection between some local judge and the whole leftist/muslim/iraqi cause (or some combination) is about to unfold. Plus, Ritter has to shut up.
He doesn't remind me of an ex-marine.
