[history]
President Bush just gave another GLOOOORRIOUS speech in Grand Rapids MI. In talking about Iraq he stated that he "went to the United Nations because I wanted the UN to be something other than an empty debating society". It was priceless.
He also asks citizens to contact their Senators about putting reasonable caps on medical malpractice so "this lawsuit lottery doesn't ruin our health care".
You'll see transcript of speech soon.

The UN is basically a social circle of Marxists and third world tyrants and it gives them the opportunity to get together in a civilized country where they can get running water and decent food.

Dubya, not Bush 41, is Reagan's political heir Ronald Reagan saved America, no doubt about it. Sometimes Reagan said electrifying things, but usually he was common-sense patriotic.
Dubya was beyond electrifying last night, mostly for content although his delivery was good, too. His choices of what to include in the SOTU were classics. The speech was classic, probably because his speechwriter spends time at FR. All SOTUs from this time forward will be judged by comparison with the 2003 SOTU.

Supposedly, the land reverts to the Rockefeller family if the UN goes away.

How much does the American taxpayer pay for this empty debating society? $1,infinity, infinity, infinity.oo.

Yep, lets just hold our breath until the UN is ready to govern us. Get out of the damned organization now!

Very true. It would sure be great to have the Gipper's maturity and grace on the public scene in contrast with x42's lack thereof.

Perhaps the only good the U.N. can be is to force the axis of weasels to pony up the cash to cover our costs of invading Iraq and saving their arses

The Dems will still say that he didn't make a case and they need more proof. Nothing will satisfy them (or the Germans and French).

Why does Bush want the UN to be more than they are? More control?????????? Right now, they're useless which will end up being more valuable to the US in the long run.

Dubya was beyond electrifying last night Absolutely! Even Juan Williams of Fox, a dyed in the wool liberal, was touched by the President. In the CBS instapoll 81% now believe the President has the same priorities for the nation as they. He connected with the American people on a very deep level.

Interesting analysis, RW. I'm not sure I am willing to go so far as to suggest 2003 was better than 2002 though! Oh well, why quibble...the guy is good.
BTW, do you really believe his speechwriter frequents FR? Just curious if this was flip commentary, you have evidence, or wishful thinking!

Supposedly, the land reverts to the Rockefeller family if the UN goes away. As Gomer Pyle would say, "Sur-prise, sur-prise, sur-prise!" NOT!

Ha! God bless GWB. :-)
