What was your favorite quote from the SOTU tonight?
January 28, 2003

And why. Why do you believe in that particular quote? How does it affect conservatism? How does it affect our war on Terror? How does it affect 8 years of the previous socialist/communist state we were supposed to embrace?

I guess it could have just been the discomfort of lifting that oversized rearend of hers in and out of that chair.

Oh, give her a break won't you? How would you like to lug around a tuchis that had its own gravity well (and ZIP code)? ;)

Favorite quote:

"And many others have met a different fate. Let's put it this way: They are no longer a problem to the United States and our friends and allies."

Mental image:

(5 terrorists + 1 SUV + 1 Predator + 1 Maverick = 1 black smudge on the desert sands)

I'm an engineer, I caught that too. He 'pandered' to the left, by giving them precisely what they wanted, and they didn't want to hear it. Typical hypocrates.

"Trusting in the . . . restraint of Saddam Hussein is not an option."

As a parent, I've experienced Saddam's horror, and view every day he remains in power in Iraq as a direct threat to the well-being of my children. I want them to grow up in a post-Saddam world as soon as possible.

I imagine you are right, must be hard to lug that one around. I would probably be hateful too if I had to do it.

"We as American's have the capacity now as we've had in the past, to do whatever needs to be done to preserve this last and greatest bastion of freedom." Ronald Reagan January, 1981 Inagural Speech.

"We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threat is no peace at all. George W. Bush SOTU January, 2003

Great statements made by two great men who understand what it means to be America, be an American and the beacon of freedom in this world.

Are we talking about Hillary's ass (can I say ass?), or her husband? But then again, I'm being redundant. < /gratuitous one-liner not even trying to pass for analysis>

"We will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, other Presidents, other Nations."

This one blew me away. Sweet!!!!!

I was taking a swig of a fine India Pale Ale when I heard this. Still trying to clean the spray from the sides of the TV tube.

That line is going to give the Clintonistas nightmares for at least a couple months.

Not all, but some good topics turn into a flame-fest or a communal shower.

Unfortunatly, people will die while under a doctors' care. Does the general population really think a doctor wants their patient to die or to have medical problems for the rest of their lives? Let me go to MY doctor, and get treatment.

Yep. When Atlas finishes shrugging and more and more doctors quit, let the doctors tell their paitents, "you need medical help? Call your lawyer!!!!"

Chevron, GM and many others are heavily-involved in fuel cell research already. And any Joe Schmoe can learn how to make his own fuel cell from the Net but, as you note, he'll have to buy hydrogen from Exxon or Mobil. For the immediate future, the research companies would appear to be best-positioned to take advantage of the $1.2 billion initiative.

Did you notice the liberals, they were so pissed. I haven't read their views, but I'm sure they're spinning.

"We Americans have faith in ourselves, but not in ourselves alone. We do not know -- we do not claim to know all the ways of Providence, yet we can trust in them, placing our confidence in the loving God behind all of life, and all of history. "

I think this says it all for me! WHY? While our liberal courts of the land are trying to terminate God from our country, Bush stood TALL tonight and exclaimed the FACT that we alone are not enough......we need GOD who is behind ALL LIFE and ALL OF HISTORY.I wept when he said that. It will go down in HISTORY as classic, and I intend to write the President tomorrow and tell him so!! GOD BLESS HIM!!
