Great job tonight, hole_n_one. It was one of your finest.

As Usual!

You can really read it on the RATS faces, can't you? And that poor sap that Hilary forced to give the RATS response. If he wasn't a RAT, I'd almost feel a bit sorry for him!

I care. And I'm glad you heard what you like.

He is the president of all the people, which some around here forget.

Good, he used Communism and Hitlerism in the same breath, on the same side (the side opposite the US)

Heh, you noticed that too. ;)

God blessed America when he gave us George W. Bush as President.

"The Arabic TV is carrying this to its audience..."

I wonder if they time-delayed the broadcast so they could "edit" it.

Who was the red-haired female congresscritter (Boxer?) near the front? I don't know if I've ever seen someone give a standing ovation with such a dour look.

Listening to big media leftists these past few minutes, it appears they're agreeing that the second half of Bush's speech was great, but they all seem to be saying the domestic stuff was nothing. Maybe run-of-the-road type initiatives. They're trying to paint W like his Father, not caring about domestic issues. Not true, of course, but they're spinning it that way.

I haven't read all this thread. Did anyone else pick up on the promise "not to leave our mess for the next Congress to clean up?" Or something to that effect. I felt like he really hit clinton and the democrats on that one.

"...what does Barbra Streisand have to say about all this?"

I'm sure she's on the cel with little Tommy Daschle right now, giving him an earful. This is the one thing that almost makes me feel sorry for the creep -- having to listen to the whiney nasal twang of that certifiable moron.

hydrogen = Hindenburg = Eine Eargeshlittenloutenboomer

The Hindenburg exploded because the stuff it was painted with resembled solid rocket fuel (powdered aluminum and magnesium) more than anything else.

President Bush controlled that building...like a Master of Ceremonies!
Hillary could barely find a snicker, Edwards looked like he saw his prez campaign crash and burn and Jeffords - well, he just looked like every nitwit from Vermont we've ever seen! STUPID LOOKING.

Kerry, Hillary, Kennedy, all of them looked defeated -- but absolutely nobody looked more depressed than Daschle. Did my heart good.

What is so refreashing about Bush is that he says what me means, and means what he says. He is a man without artifice. One can disagree with him about various issues, as I do (social security, some aspects of his tax cut, etc), but he lays his cards on the table face up. That is all I can ask of a leader, as long as on fundamental issues I don't think the policies traduce our future. In many ways, although in the rhetorical department, Bush is Churcillian. He is a progressive reformer from a conservative tradition that is willing to take some risks, foreign and domestic. And he knows evil when he sees it, and will not compromise with it to the extent that it is at all prudent to draw the line in the sand.

"President Bush is so refreshing after the horrible eight years we had with Clinton."

No kidding. What is it about the difference between good and evil that some people just can't understand?
