"Republicans thought the speech was great...Democrats watching tonight still not satisfied."
Chris Mathews is criticising Hillary being "rude" and talking to Lieberman all the time. YEP.

Daschle looked the same as he did on the night of the mid terms.

Dashole looked at the like he wants Bush dead. Lot of loathing on that face Glad I only listened. Much of that loathing is no doubt due to the latest Tommy slam -- Powell will be presenting Daschle's much-ballyhooed "proof" to the UN (the same stuff tiny Tom has already seen).
The speech was excellent. Just plain excellent. God bless W and his team.

On the economic issues, the President did a great job differentiating his, and the Republican Party's, vision from that of the Democrats. The difference was plainly visible in the difference in the Republicans and the Democrats responses to the President's initiatives in those areas.

Wow! He hit it out of the park, I think. Very emotional, especially at the end. I like his reference to the hymn "Power in the Blood" when he talked about the "power, the wonder-working power" of mentors and volunteerism.
I LOVED it when he told the world that the United States decides its own destiny (take that, France and UN!) and that we won't be blackmailed (take that, North Korea). That was the real red meat of the whole speech. I also loved it when he asked if the world really wanted to put its faith in the sanity and judgement of Saddam Hussein.
The longest applause was when he told the Armed Services, "You believe in America, and America believes in you!"
Damn, Juan Williams is pleasantly surprised! He just said he was touched by Bush's speech, didn't expect it.

I could have done without the laundry list of domestic initiatives. All SOU speeches run through the "laundry list" - it's pretty much standard. I got the impression he was going through the motions on a lot of that stuff.
Besides, he HAS to know that the Rats will be shreiking that what he proposed isn't nearly enough, and as a result most of this stuff won't make it into law.

According to that other site, CBS just said that Ted Kennedy is going to introduce a resolution tomorrow, requiring the President to come back to the Senate with "convincing evidence".

" Delauro looks mad because that house fell on her sister." John Kerry looks as miserable as she does-if they mated, wonder what their kids would look like? Too late, it already happened.

Did you hear what I said?
Ted Kennedy intends to go to the Senate tomorrow and demand that Bush come BACK to the Senate for another approval resolution from them before he goes to war!
