Peterson continuing to stay mum

John Walsh, the host of TV's "The John Walsh Show" and "America's Most Wanted," said he has pleaded with Scott Peterson to answer questions and make a public statement.
Peterson refused, Walsh said Sunday after taping "The John Walsh Show" in Modesto.
"I talked to Scott on the phone for about 45 minutes and his parents for about an hour," Walsh said in the lobby of the DoubleTree Hotel. "I said, 'You need to show you are cooperating with the police fully, and you need to clarify the situation.'"
Peterson's wife, Laci Peterson, vanished Christmas Eve. Scott Peterson told police he went fishing that morning and his wife had plans to walk their dog in East La Loma Park.
Since then, police have said they have not been able to eliminate Peterson as a suspect in his wife's disappearance. Laci Peterson's family said two weeks ago that police told them Scott Peterson was having an affair, a report that Peterson has called "a bunch of lies."
Peterson has not given an extensive media interview since his wife disappeared, though he has talked briefly with some reporters.
A volunteer center used to coordinate efforts to find Laci Peterson was closed the day after police talked to her family.
Friday, the Modesto Police Department held a news conference where 28-year-old Fresno area resident Amber Frey said she had a recent romantic relationship with Peterson, but did not know he is married.
Walsh said he told Peterson that the affair is "old news" and the investigation needs to refocus on finding Laci. He said he reminded Peterson that the parents of Danielle van Dam, a 7-year-old who was murdered last year in San Diego County, came forward and admitted that their lifestyles didn't meet everyone's moral standards.
"That put everyone's attention back on the victim, and a man was arrested and then convicted for the murder because the parents stepped up to the plate," Walsh said he told Peterson. "That's what you need to do."
Despite the conversation, Peterson still declined to appear on Walsh's shows, which will air at 2 p.m. Thursday on KQCA-58.
"We just don't understand why he won't talk," Walsh said. "I told him that when Adam went missing, I would have stood naked in the middle of Times Square and let people shoot at me just to get my son back."
Adam, Walsh's 6-year-old son, disappeared in Florida in 1981 and was found murdered. No one was ever convicted in the case. The incident prompted Walsh to lobby for children's rights and to host the show "America's Most Wanted."
No comment from Peterson family
Peterson's parents had agreed to an interview for the show, but changed their minds after talking to Scott, Walsh said.
"Scott's father called up and said he agreed it was time for Scott to start defending himself," Walsh said.
Steve Howard, spokesman for the Peterson family, said Sunday he did not have any comments on the case.
"Nothing is pending," Howard said. "There's nothing I can say right now."
Without Peterson, Walsh spent his morning filming in front of the Peterson home on Covena Avenue.

And even if there is enough to prove a violent scene, they need something of Scott's located in some way as to implicate him. Even a hair from him in found in a wound on her(if they found her body) could have gotten there from some surface during a struggle.
They probably have something like fish-blood residue in the boat and are hoping it is more interesting than it probably is.
I hope they find something that ties someone to something or at least gives us a better idea what happened. As bad as it is to think about it, if they found some placenta or amniotic fluid, even traces, with blood in a cleaned-up kitchen, we would at be able to eliminate a host of possibilities that involve her being alive at the time of her disappearance. Amniotic fluid in the truck, the boat, or at his work would pretty much seal it.
I would be interested to see if anything ties any other family members or friends to the disappearance, maybe he had an accomplice.
Wasn't one if the motives supposed to be the insurance policy? If they don't find a body he would have to wait a few years to collect. Actually I think Scott is an accomplished liar but even the girlfriend isn't a motive. He just met her Nov 20th and she has a child. Wasn't one of the theories that he didn't want a child?
Let's face it. Scott is a cheater, a liar but I know many men who have cheated on their wives and didn't kill them. There may be more women coming forward to say he had an affair with them, but I can't get the idea out of my head that this has something to do with the baby, more than Laci.
Of course, Scott could be the "stupidist man alive", who took out a double indemnity insurance policy and then hid the body so he could never be paid, who actually dumped the body in the water at the place where he told the police he was at, making up the absolute flimiest excuse(fishing alone) he could think of, etc. Either Scott is an idiot, or it just doesnt fit.
A baby stealing kidnap is consistent with everything that has been found so far.
In order to ascertain that any blood, tissue matter, or other dna material belonged to Laci they would have to have a verifiable source material to compare it to (such as her body).
If they didn't have such a source, they could type both her parents and develop a probability quotient that the dna was hers.
Still, unless tissue can be identified as internal tissue that could only have been ejected from some form of severe trauma (brain matter, artery or vein tissue etc.,) I think the prosecution might have a difficult time linking it to her "assumed" murder.
Of course if they found her blood type in such a volume as to suggest a person would die from such a blood loss, it would probably be self-evident to a jury that she was dead. But of course, the question would still remain as to who killed her.
No body, no witness(es), no confession, they both lived in the same house, he has made no statements indicting himself, he has a lawyer. Just based on a lawyer being able to convince one juror of reasonable doubt, I would say SP will walk.
I predicted to Queen Jadis weeks ago that you would quickly see the house up for sale (and it was) and that he will most likely leave the state (if not the country) within a month or so if he is not arrested.
Westerfield is on death row, and doesn't get turned outside to have to watch his 6 oclock. If Scott gets the death sentence, he'll be isolated, won't he?

So he's pulling a Gary Condit eh?
