I won't be surprised if some animal rights group accuses Israel of cruelty.

Jeez, even the livestock are getting into the act. That place is out of control.
Is there any indication as to the motive of the donkey? Did it leave behind a video or letter extolling its allegiance to Allah and a wish to smite the infidels? Will the donkey's family get the jihadi bonus from Uncle Saddam? Are donkeys even motivated by 72 virgin donkeys in the afterlife? What makes a donkey so desperate that suicide bombing is his only answer?

a donkey laden with explosives was detonated

Are the Pali's running low on fool humans that want to kill themselves? Yeesh. I actually think this is much more abhorrent than the suicide bombers that are at least willing to die for their own cause. This is about as cowardly as it gets.

If the donkey/cart looked like this I would be suspicious
....OR THIS
To: yonif
Well, I read the entire article through several times, and it never says what happened to the donkey.
Who, what, when, where, why? Will these modern reporters never learn? The facts, Ma'am, just the facts.

Revenge.
Let's pack a nice fat porker full of dynamite and send it into one of their mosques.
That's what you call a double whammy.
To: yonif
Oh now they went and done it. They will have PETA all over their asses (no Pun intended).
Maybe it is time we consider using PIG BOMBS in their compounds.

Surprised they aren't using bomb dogs yet. The Russians used them against the Germans in WW II. The Germans also used very small explosive laden "tanks" against the Americans at Aachen. They were wire controlled back then but they could be radio controlled today.

Well... it's not all that different from the Muslim-Hindu conflict on the sub-continent.
Do to the tolerance given the sacred cows in the area, a militant group has taken to using remote detonators to ignite a small, highly devastating plastic bomb that had been made of a size to be ingested by the larger animals, a male usually.
As the poor creature has roaming freedom along the streets and highways, the terrorists would merely wait until it had moved alongside of the intented target and then the button would be pressed.
So many of these attacks were taking place that the New Delhi headlines screamed:
This new wave of terrorism is simply abominable!
