Last night, (25 Jan.) IDF 'Givati', Armor and Engineering Special Forces operated in the neighborhood of Eskola, in Gaza City. During the wide-scale operation, IDF forces raided dozens of buildings housing weapon-production laboratories, and destroyed over 100 lathes used in the production of Kassam missiles and mortars.
According to military sources, IDF forces encountered heavy resistance in the form of heavy gunfire, anti-tank missiles, and explosive devices. IDF soldiers returned fire toward the source of the attackers.
"Our goal was to prevent the launching of Kassam missiles against Israeli communities," explained the IDF commander of the Gaza Strip, Brigadier General Gadi Shamani. "We have no intention of harming the innocent Palestinian population not involved in terror."
