[history]
On Thursday night, in a rare exception to the anti-American folderol coming out of city councils across the country, the Louisville Metro Council voted 17-9 for passage of a Resolution to Support our Troops. The make up of the council is 15 Democrats and 11 Republicans. Six Democrats crossed party lines to vote for the Resolution with the entire Republican Caucus.

Cool! I didn't vote for any of those dems but every one on the right got my vote last election...Awesome."
To: BlueOneGolf
I know it's unlikely, but I hope come next election there is a lot of talk about the pinheads who couldn't bring themselves to vote for even a generic 'support our troops' resolution.

Going into this mad war is supporting our troops? How crazy can you be? It is going to kill our young men and women for no real purpose! KILLING OUR MILITARY YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN FOR NO REAL PURPOSE, FOR A PREEMPTIVE, UNCONSTITUTIONAL STRIKE!
Do you really support them? NO! You want to KILL THEM to justify your political partisanship!
To: dixiechick2000
Well, glory be! This IS good news! Will you find "glory be" and goodness in the American bodies and the innocent civilians buried in mass graves in Iraq?! Are you insane?! You can take your corny perceived historic expressions and shove them!
What about the terrorist attacks that will happen as a result, attacks that are already happening in Kuwait and elsewhere. Does that warrant another "GLORY BE" from you?
Good God, this is not the magazine version of the Civil War, and it is NOT the church picnic. There is nothing glorious about it!

I believe the purpose of the Resolution in the Metro Council was simply to support local troops that were deplyed from Metro Louisville. I don't believe the council's purpose was to debate National Security policy. Please read the Resolution again.

BTW, I am an Army veteran and if for some crazy reason I were to be recalled to active duty for this current situation I would not hesitate to go. I do appreciate your comments on this subject.
To: BlueOneGolf
Yes, but this is the perennial excuse for war, is it not? "Support our troops" becomes an excuse for war, and that is simply not good enough for me, because if you have a war that is not justified, then the warriors become pawns, and often dead pawns.
I wore an MIA bracelet during the Vietman war in an effort of support, but that did not mean I supported the war. These things become blurred for a reason, and I'm sorry if I misinterpreted yours; I have friends who were journalists in your area. But "support our troops" just doesn't handle it when it comes to a war we have no business being in. This is so much like Vietnam that my father and mother must be turning in their graves.
To: BlueOneGolf
Everyone consider contacting their local city council people and requesting a similar resolution supporting the troops. Thanks.

Are you willfully blind or what? Do we not have a moral duty to go after this MASS MURDERER? Are we supposed to turn a blind eye while he plots to turn the middle east and maybe us into a huge graveyard? Time to wake up and think for yourself.
If we had left Hitler to get the Bomb first just where do you think you would be today? Just food for thought, so think about it.

dixiechick2000 (Maybe the hokey pokey IS what it's all about...)I guess you knew that the person that wrote the "Hokey Pokey" died. There was a major problem at the mortuary when they tried to put him in the casket. They put the left foot in, ...........(groan)
