The federal portion of the 2002 total taxrate is 21.9%(
Taxfoundation) of family income.
Knocking down some more dominoes:
13.8% ..... rate if Social Security and Medicare were eliminated
12.9% .......... rate if Nat'l Endowment for the Arts were eliminated
10.8%........ rate if Dept. of Education were eliminated
8.9% .......... rate if welfare were eliminated
8.6%.......... rate if foreign aid were eliminated
etc.
