**Davis' office issued a press release yesterday boasting that California was "the most pro-choice state in America." **
That's nothing to be proud of...

God Bless the good Bishops that defend the faith. Maybe with a return to the faith they can erase the stain of Cardinal Law.

I was there. The church erupted in applause when Weigand mentioned Kavanaugh's efforts, and then more applause 3 more times throughout the homily.
It made my day.

Time for our Catholic Church to stand up for the unborn.

Spokesman Russ Lopez deflected the challenge from the bishop and criticized Weigand for "telling the faithful how to practice their faith." There are no words . . .

Thanks for posting this article. It is too bad that the bishop did not make this challenge BEFORE the November election...duuhhhhh

"Spokesman Russ Lopez deflected the challenge from the bishop and criticized Weigand for "telling the faithful how to practice their faith." He then predicted Weigand's comments would alienate California Catholics."
Even Protestants who never attended a single moment of catechism class know that Catholic Bishops kinda, sorta have the authority to "tell the faithful" what the rules for Catholics might be, including most particularly how to "practice their faith".
Looks like Mr. Lopez missed class the day they covered the part about the bishops' position in the church.

They are gonna have to cleanse the Clergy before they can have any credibility in cleansing the Laity.

They take pride in their shame It's very Biblical, though...
Philippians 3:17-19
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Okay, you stole my response. It's a hang-your-head-in-shame, not a matter for boasting.
