You are taking your eyes off the ball. We are talking about Ritter here and not the reporter.
I see little difference between what is being done to Ridder with this latest revelation and what Bill Clinton did to those who "opposed" him. Scorched earth policy. The Clintons destroy people by the same smear tactics. It seems too many have learned how to use the Clinton playbook to their own advantage. I'm not defending Ridder's previous actions (arrest related and certainly not his stand or Iraq); however, his misdemeaner is a legal system situation. Character assassination is just that--and it is happening over a misdemeanor that had been settled. Talk about smelling blood! Smear tactics! Scorched earth character assassination! Clinton taught America so much!

Wouldn't it be ironic if the "leak" about his arrest came from a little kid who recently saw Ritter while he was on TV, basking in the limelight as a Crusader against war?
Look, Mommy, look!!! There's that man that they arrested at Burger King when we were there for my birthday party.
Did they arrest him because he kept cursing at my friends who had to "go" and were knocking on the bathroom door?
Do you think so, Mommy? Huh?

When a man has been discovered attempting to lure young girls into sexual situations his character should be assassinated. He should be listed on his state's rolls as a sexual predator and his neighbors should be notified. To attempt to label the Ritter revelation as a Clinton-like smear (presumably by the Bush administration) is ludicrous. The fact that his hand was merely slapped and these charges were not made public reinforces my assertion.
