Yep, I can identify with that...got in at the tail end of the flower child decade as a teenager, and like your wife was in the church choir...so wasn't all that wild.
You just can't judge a book by its cover- back then, her brother looked a wee bit like John Lennon- and rode a big bike, too-- yet he ran a business, had a nice family & kids- just wanted to look a little unconventional when he wasn't working.
I did a lot of hot, heavy work in those days, so I wore my hair either so short it stayed out of the way, or so long that I could tie it back- nowhere in between, for practical reasons.
