Thank you for the "Forsaken Roots" essay...have always loved Patrick Heny's words.

Much of the info here is new to me though, and I'm glad to know it.

LadyX, you need to know that after I wrote my essay last weekend, as I was emptying my head of it to take a fresh look later in the day, I read your post to the Finest thread, you spoke about your encounter with the Marine family...don't remember it all now, but it was very moving and telling.

I took it as a sign that what I'd just written was the right thing to say, because it echoed your own words, and the thoughts behind them...thoughts I know most of us Freeper-types have in common.

After reading your story, I knew I was on the right track...a humble thank you, I offer...)
