President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush left the White House this morning to go to Landover, Maryland, where the President, joined by Condoleezza Rice, spoke to the congregation of First Baptist Church of Glenarden on the anniversary honoring slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. He was welcomed warmly and given a standing ovation by the congregation, and spoke from his heart of the prejudice still holding people back, and the need for healing the hurt and hopelessness that still exist . On Sunday, the President announced his proposal to increase spending to historically black and Hispanic colleges, and universities by 5%. Enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

The congregation was indeed receptive. We were watching (ugh!) NBC News, and with every comment our President made, you could just barely hear "Amen" in the background. I think NBC was trying to mute the enthusiastic reception he was enjoying.

They just don't look professional enough, and yes, they do look funny when paired with suits. We have dress code in our group that no slip-ons are allowed, even those expensive dress slip-on shoes not not allowed.

I've never been arrested for anything before..........well, besides speeding, and running a stop light, and there was that one bank I robbed, but that was just once..............so, anyway, I'm looking forward to disturbing the peace with you tomorrow! :o)
