SB 1155 pro-homosexual bill DEFEATED in commitee

Great news, FREEPERS! SB 1155, a bill that would have added "sexual orientation" as grounds for a hate crime was DEFEATED in the VA Senate in the Courts of Justice Committee. The vote was 8 to 5.

Voting NO to not report the bill were Senators Stolle, Trumbo, Quayle, Norment, Reynolds, Rerras, Blevins, Cuccinelli.

Must be an election year in the Senate. Tommy Norment's committee votes have been pretty good so far.

Thanks for the ping. I was somewhat concerned about this bill this year. What I'd really like to see is a bill repealing all 'hate crime' legislation. Maybe next year. And hooray for Ken Cucinnelli. He's going to be an asset to the senate on so many issues.
