I thought I was the only one thinking that this guy is an idiot. His answer to Cavuto is, If there are 50 students and only 30 got in due to affirmative action, hey just put 20 more chairs in the class. What a dork.

. Let me ask you this, do you think that GWB has done everything he can do to protect us from more terror attacks?Do you want us attacked again. Thank your lucky stars that we haven't been hit again.....we can bitch and moan about the FBI and the CIA ....but they are busting their butts to keep you safe ...
Sit there all smug in your little I hate both political parties world......and remember those people who put it on the line everyday...... so we never see another morning like Sept 11th..

Gee, maybe he did this because he thought it was the right thing to do. A new concept to you, I'm sure. Who peed in your pop?
I was simply making the observation that the President is obviously keyed in on the subtler and finer points of the principled debates going on in the conservative movement and the GOP, and is acting in line with the wisest strain of that debate....the one that is based on core principles of equality for all Americans.
You got a problem with that?
To: ohioWfan
thanks to a grassroots movement of concerned Americans

That's not what I said.......but your response sure does LOOK like a liberal answer to my statement to you.
There are plenty of people who will willing you quote you chapter and verse about Bush's views on those questions.
But THIS thread is not about that; it's a live thread about a Bush speech on affirmative access; you're disrupting it.

I didn't know this was coming up, but just happened to turn on the TV at right time.
As it always seems to happen in this administration, the FEARS voiced by the puntificating naysayers on FR are completely blunted and proved wrong when the man himself actually speaks!

and Pat Buchanan is saying Bush did this to pander to his base. That comes from a grand master of pandering.

Oh, my mistake. And here I thought you were the one who brought it up in the first place.

I hope you're not suggesting that just because a position he takes is unpopular with radical left wingers, that he should not take it...

Well Sen. Tom Dashcle (D-Homestake Mining) made it official, he is disapointed.

What do the borders have to do with affirmative action?
And why does it take 'all or nothing' to make some people happy?
Yes, some things seem to be ignored and shouldn't be, but at least Bush is makeing some headway.

Too bad Puchanan doesn't have a base to pander to!
"Why do I oppose Affirmative Action?"
Because America needs her best and brightest.
Because hard work and intelligence sould be rewarded.
and because I'm against racism of any kind.

DASCHLE IS ON THE FLOOR OF THE SENATE right now. HE is saddened and disappointed over the Presidents decision today on Civil RIghts. He must think that he is still in the majority. Reid was on the floor earlier, interrupting one of the republican senators. He said that he had just spoken to senator Daschle, who had been meeting with Byrd and Stevens over the appropriations and they would be coming to the floor soon to discuss their decisions. Instead Daschle is trashing our president over his sppech on affirmative action. Daschle must have gotten permission from Hiliary to make his comments.

do you think that GWB has done everything he can do to protect us from more terror attacks?Well, there's a mighty ugly implication to this question.
I've read with interest your baseless assertions on this thread, culminating in this gem.
You have demonstrated that you know nothing about President Bush. It is foolish to mindlessly have trust and faith in a leader to do the right thing when they haven't earned that trust, but your assessment is so far afield of the person that GWB is, that your comments clatter into the thread and look...silly.
