LACI PETERSON UPDATE- 1-14-03
Fox News- On The Record
| 1-14-03
| Greta Van Sustern

Van Sustren interviewed 20 year Berkley Bay fisherman Craig Stone. Stone said that nothing about what Scott Peterson did on the fishing trip to Berkley Bay seemed out of the ordinary to him from a fishing viewpoint. The bait was appropriate and available. The sturgeon were available. The boat size was not unusual. The optimal fishing area was not far off shore. The fish are prized but not easily caught. The time of day peterson was fishing was appropriate. It all seemed plausable to him.

I think it was CNN Headline News or the regular one that reported the last half hour that a picture of Scott with his girlfriend was shown to the family. Police detectives pointed out to them the timestamp on the photograph, which was a date in early December 2002. It was dated during a timeframe when Scott was supposedly away on a business trip.
Uh-huh.

I'm not KimVRWC, but I liked her 'punk' remark about the husband of this missing pregnant woman. He comes across as a punk to say the least----showing no remorse or concern, laughing and smiling, writing a silly note to the volunteers, refusing to speak to the media, and so on. He's a punk alright.
I also agreed with Kim's take (and many others) on the VanD couple. Using drugs and being swingers didn't murder their child.
Hope this helps.
ps: You seem a little tense, Savage.

In the same situation ... if i was having an affair and my wife had disappeared I would IMMEDIATELY come forward and reveal the affair. And take a polygraph. Oh, exactly, if you were innocent. So would I. You cannot let these little factoids "slip out" months into the investigation.
And if he did it, how did he ever think he was going to get away with all this?? His girlfriend didn't even know he was MARRIED, and obviously not that his wife was about to have a baby. Good L-rd.

I work in Brentwood everyday ,,, I am on the 25th floor of the World Savings building I lived right there on Kiowa back in college. I remember kissing my boyfriend down in the pit dug before the World Savings building was built! Ah, memories... LOL.

"two months from delivery"
Hmmmm? I heard she was 8-1/2 mos. that's just TWO WEEKS!
This was the reason I was so disturbed to find out he went so far away from her and on a holiday eve. Those 2 issues still bother me; they reek of selfishness.

It's okay to have your opinion (even if it doesn't agree with anyone else) - the problem comes when people demand that others have the same opinion.

Was that from the Vigil Service?

I agree..it would be difficult to prosecute a case like this in California, without a body..especially given the flakiness of some juries out there.
Scott will probably cop a plea to manslaughter, "in the heat of anger" or somesuch BS, in return for telling where he dispsoed of Laci's and the baby boy's bodies.

Her due date was listed as Feb. 10. She disappeared on 12/24. According to my calendar, from 12/24 to 2/10 is just under 7 weeks. Early on in this thing, everyone was making a huge deal out of him leaving, and ready to hang SP based on the fact that he left his wife on Christmas Eve, and that she could deliver at anytime. In fact, she was still some time away from delivery, and his going fishing on Christmas Eve didn't give any particular alarm to me. I guess none of these people know any hard core sportsmen. Of course since that time, things have progressively started to look worse for Scott. The affair, the life insurance, problems with the timeline, etc. He either killed her, knows who killed her, or is the unluckiest SOB in the world. My money is on him killing her though. My bet is also that he makes a break for it from LA. And it won't be across the border in California either. He'll take off for a fishing trip from an LA marina, and arrive in Mexico via boat, so as to avoid all that pesky border scrutiny. Just a prediction! ;>)
