The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings.
This is going to be two years of total war. Let's see if the media notices!

I think it's called running rings around Frist and his lack of knowledge of senatorial procedures.
He could ask Trent Lott for help but i see the Dems trying to stymie everything, starting with procedural rules and committee makeup and budgets and staff and everything else.
To: Deb
Been watching since this morning. This is disgusting. Contacted both my Dem Senators telling them to knock it off, but I am not holding my breath.

The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings. They are bluffing. They don't have that ability.
U.S. Constitution Article I.
Section 5.
...a Majority of each [House of Congress] shall constitute a Quorum to do Business... and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such a Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may privide.
The Republicans don't even need for the Rats to show up to do business. They can also compel them to attend.
To: swarthyguy
I don't think Lott is the only one who knows about procedure... please...

The RAT from Nevada has produced a constitution from his pocket demagoguing that the last congress they 'protected the minority'. Completely Ignoring the fact that the last congress was elected as a Republican Majority and they only wielded their Magnanimous Act to grease the skids for their Bribery Fest as the senate changed hands in an extra-electoral power shift.

So I guess since it was customary for the last 200 years that in the last 200 years we haven't protected the minority?

think it's called running rings around Frist and his lack of knowledge of senatorial procedures. That's a good thing.
Look, Frist more intelligent than the other side of the Aisle put together, and what they are doing, is forcing him to turn his attention to his weak spot, namely the fact that he is green.......It would have served them better and longer had they just waited and ambushed him when it was necessary, instead of going bananas over trifling issues that concern no one but us here....

Frist needs to submit funding for 2/3:1/3. After the Dems filibuster for a few hours, resubmit funding for 3/4:1/4. If they filibuster again, resubmit funding for 7/8:1/8, etc.

Will the steel-spined Republicans resolve this issue by handing all control over to the Democrats? Probably.
