The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings.
This is going to be two years of total war. Let's see if the media notices!

Al Gore gave up any dreams of being President when he climbed in the hot tub on SNL, and Thompson gave up any hope of a SC nomination when he went to Law and Order...

"Some people say, 'Full speed ahead, just get it done.' That's easier said than done in the Senate," said the incoming Senate majority leader, Trent Lott of Mississippi.

I think this is due to the rats not having control of either house or the presidency for the first time since the Eisenhower administration. I don't count 2000 because of the demonstrated fragility of the GOP majority then.
They are just freaking out that they NOW no longer can call the shots. They also lost the patsy GOP leader who was Lott. Only if Terrel & Thune had pulled it out.

I just called Frist's local office (yes, I live in Tennessee.) The lady assured me she would pass on my message to stick to his guns. And she loved the part about the 3/4 - 1/4, 7/8 - 1/8... So your voice has hopefully been heard.

They need to get rid of that blue slip crap...
They need to write all this stuff into the continuing budget resolution including this issue of organization rules for the new senate year and let the Dems keep it up...

I don't think McCain will run again..I think he's got health issues..the skin cancer...he doesn't look well in recent TV appearances.....who would be likely to seek the GOP nomination?

I wish Hayworth would "Take McCain Down"

Rumor is that Fred Thompson, of recent Law and Order fame, is the second S.C. pick, after Gonzales Interesting, I hadn't heard that. Is Thompson pro-life?

what about the last election when Coverdale died (and Zell Miller still hold his seat for Democrats instead of Republicans) or in Missouri where the dead guy Carnahan was annointed and his widow held his seat unconstitutionally for two years. Not only did the DemoncRATs have to use Jumpin' Jim Jeffords to try and pretend they had a majority, they had to dish the constitution by seating Carnahan and are still even as close as they are by fiat (Zell Miller) and some close elections (ala Landrieu). If this is shrill wait untill the Democrats are even further diminished in 2004

Democrats playing games with our beloved country. There is not a single statesman among them. They have all gone the way of their last leader....lying, cheating, double-talking, and chest-beating. They are a shame to this nation.

McCain is toast physically (for the record)
To: chnsmok
I wouldn't last 5 minutes on the Senate floor, I'd cross the aisle and punch them in the mouth.

anyone willing to watch the Senate right now is seeing blantant theft......oh how they screaned in the 90's
not to "OVERTURN THE WILL OF THE VOTERS"
selective memory ? no....just theft
To: Deb
The Dems are using the resolution that routinely funds committee staff as the weapon to stall transfer of power. Incredible. And utterly predictable. Call their offices and raise Hell. Everyone.

Thompson gave up any hope of a SC nomination when he went to Law and Order... Dang, he'll just have to settle for megabucks and a California hot tub?
