I've been reading posts by people who use the term Conservative and others who use the term Libertarian. I have a question for all FReepers, is there a difference between the two?

I am against all evil and for good.Pretty much everyone is. The question is what you consider good and evil. Is individual liberty good? Is allowing people the freedom to do ill evil? Saying you are for good and against evil is like saying you want what you like, and don't want what you dislike.

touchy!By the way, one has to wonder if you replied to the wrong post; did you mean to spout off on 383, rather than 382?

Depends on your definition of liberty. To a lot of the homies in my hood liberty is defined as not having to work and still getting to eat, watch tv, talk sh*t, smoke weed and drink and screw. All that requires big government and lots of wealth redistribution.Actually it still holds, unless you think "liberty" is a relative term. Their misconceptions do not alter reality.

382, although bungs have there uses, so one party was unjustly slighted.
Actually I am extremely conservative and am of the opinion that all these behaviors are self-punishing. Then there is the matter of money, or economy, and I dont like to spend more than once on something. The only organization of people who can undertake tasks, for decades, and not accomplish what they set out to do, but in fact make matters worse, is the government. Everything else, and one, goes broke. Governments do to. It is commonplace. The Founding Fathers believed in a basic science to government that they, and I, believe is true though cultures and time. It can be summed up as more government, more crime, less liberty.

I'm on mid-Cape and there wasn't a kid raised that wasn't told to ride their bicycle for the trees if they saw a Kennedy car coming.

The Bill of Rights came years after The ConstitutionYou are mistaken.

Saying you are for good and against evil is like saying you want what you like, and don't want what you dislike. No I didn't say I was a Libertarian. But I would like to be in charge of Libertarian neighborhood vigilantly committee as out lined in the LP platform.
We applaud the trend toward private protection services and voluntary community crime control groups. We support institutional changes, consistent with full respect for the rights of the accused, that would permit victims to direct the prosecution in criminal cases.
I think my political philosophy is best articulated by Judge E. Knott
To: Democrap
No I didn't say I was a Libertarian. You either don't believe it's possible for a man to like what is good, and dislike what is evil, or can't pass up the chance to take a gratuitous cheap shot at Libertarians.
Either way, would it be possible for you to articulate your own political beliefs, in your own words? I'm not really inclined to sit here and wait for your movie to d/l over a dialup connection.

Lives a real icth aint it.Pretty hard to do when you're an Independent. Mostly I've voted Republican in the last few elections. Either way, we apparently disagree, but if you don't care enough to explain what you believe in and why, I don't see any reason to give it a lot of consideration.

I don't see any reason to give it a lot of consideration. OK
To: Democrap
Hum I would said a NORMAL libertarian. You would have been wrong. RLC Constitutionalist would be closer, but when the end justifies the means, any attempt to question the means has to be seen as an attack on the end, in the most extreme possible terms.

All the caring Americans agree with me. Loyal Americans follow my thinking. Those who care about the future will back up my point. If you dont side with us you are for killing the (name it).

Keep fighting that drug war, Dcrap.
Once that unconstitutional prohibitional concept is well established, it WILL be used to justify prohibiting arms. -- Bet on it.

Quote my alleged "misquotes", you clown.
You can't, and won't, because none exist.
The text of the constitution is readily available. Why would anyone misquote it, or be stupid enough to claim someone has?
