Are there any differences between Conservatives and Libertarians?

I've been reading posts by people who use the term Conservative and others who use the term Libertarian. I have a question for all FReepers, is there a difference between the two?

I despise Libs and I'm libertarian. I think liberal-socialist statists are the biggest threat the Republic faces domestically.

One believes liberty is achieved through an extremely big government and the other believes it is achieved through an extremely small government.

Rights are in the adeptly named "Bill of Rights". The preamble of which doesn't limit it, or us, to enumerated rights. No need getting into Monroe, Jefferson vs. the Federalist arguments with you. Too over your head/knowledge base.

So now the amendments to the constitution are not part of the constitution. Amazing what you can learn from a pothead. And I all ways thought that the right to bear arms was a in the constitution. But no it's in the "Bill of Rights". Gee you sure made a fool of me all right.

You may indeed. If you do, I will be there arguing for your right to live in a society under state and local laws that reflect your beliefs, and not dictated to by a federal government that has exceeded it's Constitutional authority to do so.

Not neccessarily approving of it, but a libertarian would not try to regulate your activity, including vice, as long as you and your activity was done privately and by consenting adults.

That might be the position of the party but its not classic libertarianism, which allows mature adults to make their own choices and engage in behaviors privately so long as they harm no one. This would not condone bestiality, since the animal is not consenting. A key part of Libertarianism is that the gov't shouldn't be governing states of consciousness (thru punishing drug use) or sexual activity. Now a true libertarian would not approve of drunk driving since it is not responsible.

I'm not a Democrat, because they are pro-abortion, pro-tax.

I'm not a Libertarian because they are pro-abortion, pro-drug.

I know, you are going to argue about my characterization of Libertarians, but it is how I view them - just as you apparently view most Republicans as 'Democrat-lite'.

The Bill of Rights came years after The Constitution, however I believe you are correct in that the The Constitution and the Bill of Rights do form the Constitution and are one inseparable document.. Anyways.

Depends on your definition of liberty. To a lot of the homies in my hood liberty is defined as not having to work and still getting to eat, watch tv, talk sh*t, smoke weed and drink and screw. All that requires big government and lots of wealth redistribution.
