Planned Parenthood's Annual Report Shows Increase In Deaths 1.7.2003
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Douglas R. Scott, president of Life Decisions International, announced today the release of an analysis of Planned Parenthood Federation of America's (PPFA) Annual Report (2001-2002). "No group in the world is better at verbal engineering than Planned Parenthood," Scott said. "As usual, the Planned Parenthood hierarchy counts on the ignorance of people about its affairs in order to continue its existence. We are here to shine a light in the dark world that is Planned Parenthood."
PPFA's Annual Report shows a huge increase in the number of surgical abortions committed by the organization. PPFA affiliates committed 213,026 surgical abortions between January 1 and December 31, 2001--an increase of 8.1 percent over the previous year. With one exception, Planned Parenthood has increased its share of the surgical abortion market every year. PPFA's vastly more lucrative "emergency contraception" market, which includes an untold number of chemical abortions, rose a staggering 248.6 percent, from 131,638 in 2000 to 458,892 in 2001.
Planned Parenthood continued its steady slide in the number of customers seen for prenatal care (down 11.8 percent). It also made fewer adoption referrals (down 21.5 percent). "This is not surprising as Planned Parenthood's business is not about babies that will live long enough to be born," Scott said. "The statistics suggest that Planned Parenthood cares only about those children it may profit from--those it can kill in the womb and those it can corrupt out of the womb."
PPFA's organizational budget continues to soar. Financial reports for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, show that its total revenue was $692.5 million (up nearly three percent from the 2000-2001 fiscal year). Its expenses were nearly $680.3 million (up 8.2 percent). Planned Parenthood had a profit (which is supposed to be called an "excess in revenue over expenses") of $12.2 million-for that one-year period alone. Planned Parenthood historically has huge profit at year's end, yet it continually claims to need more and more money.
PPFA's total liabilities for the 2000-2001 fiscal year were $121 million. Its total assets were $774.1 million. PPFA had $246.1 million in unrestricted assets (essentially the equivalent of a savings account that may be tapped at any time). Add to this $94.6 million in temporarily restricted assets. This is rather strange since a "not-for-profit" organization is supposed to work toward a balanced budget, not one that ends in a multi-million dollar surplus every year. "Maybe Planned Parenthood would be willing to return the funds it gets from taxpayers?" Scott asked.
As if all of this were not enough, PPFA has launched a six-year, $340 million federation-wide fund-raising campaign. Most of the funds will be used for pro-abortion advocacy throughout the United States and the rest of the world.
It is important to note that while PPFA's budget continues to rise, it is doing so at a much slower rate than other not-for-profit entities. One decade ago, PPFA was the twelfth largest "charitable" organization in the United States. Today it ranks fifty-fourth. "This is surely because Planned Parenthood's bad reputation continues to be tarnished," Scott said. Additional evidence is the fact that of all organizations funded by the United Way, Planned Parenthood is-by far-the group named most often by donors as one they do not want to receive their money. (United Way funding is a local decision. Some support Planned Parenthood while others do not.)
"Planned Parenthood continue to spread its message of death while insisting that taxpayers foot the bill," Scott said. "After years and years of failed programs that lead to worse and worse problems, when will lawmakers begin to figure out that Planned Parenthood's programs are the problem?" Scott said that if the Department of Defense had the same failure rate as Planned Parenthood, the Soviet Union would have won the Cold War-by far.

Further to the "most profitable window of human non-personhood" nailed open by President Bush with his ESCR decision, we've no hope in hell of ever putting a dent in this end of the Deathist receipts.

Zygotes and Embryos ARE people too ... else how could they be determined "Excess" humans by our President?
