Seeing as to how this Act has been in effect since the Reagan administration, why hasn't it had those terrible consequences yet? Oh, it has. I can think of about 5 clients of mine that wanted to shoot me because I told them we couldn't put a building, road or other piece of infrastructure in a certain spot due to a puddle of water (not kidding....a f***ing puddle of water). Ultimately they spent MANY thousands of extra dollars on re-design all because some nitpickers at the state capital chose to interpret a set of regulations in a screwy manner. However, now that the issue is back on the front pages, many states that currently do not have similar regulations will feel pressured to adopt them, thus screwing the private property owners and businessmen even more.

Yes, I do live in the "deep South" and I am sick of people like Trent Lott and Todd trying to drag me and the rest of the good people who live in the South into that crap he did on BET, implying he couldn't "help" it because of where he was raised.
And I am sick of people like Todd, who changes his position on EVERYTHING from minute to minute, coming on EVERY THREAD on FR and posting the same crap over and over -- always OUT OF CONTEXT and completely twisted -- that makes conservatives look like racist.
For instance, he is now going from thread to thread demanding that Bush sign an executive order banning affirmative action.
And the thing that bothers most of us about people posting stuff like that over and over is that Todd really doesn't understand that you just cannot do stuff like that without all hell breaking loose in this country. It would suit him fine. He doesn't care about conservatives or the Republican Party; all he cares about is trying to "be soembody."
As far as I can tell -- and for all I know -- Free Republic very well could be court ordered therapy for Todd.

Yes, and by the same token, prior to the Act, reidential developments where built on Everglades swamp land. They are sinking.

I told you last night you don't have to post replies to me that are posted TO me.
Unlike you, I can read and comprehend the English language.

So, the terrible consequences you have experienced since Reagan began this policy boils down to 5 people not being able to get permits to build something?

It started with a DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTS Executive Order
...
The actual phrase "affirmative action" was first used in President Lyndon Johnson's 1965
Executive Order 11246
which requires federal contractors to "take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin."
.....
AND IT SHOULD END WITH A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTS Executive Order

The Everglades is a whole different ball of wax. I'm talking about the abuse of the regulations by government officials in order to stop (or at least greatly hamper) development. When I told you that the government would consider a mere puddle a wetland (and therefore off limits to development), I meant it.

For instance, he is now going from thread to thread demanding that Bush sign an executive order banning affirmative action. Todd is this true? If it is you need to research what a president can or cannot do via executive order. What he CANNOT do is override established law. If you are doing this then the only charitable explanation is that you are ignorant of the powers of the EO.
To: Texasforever
Yes, it's true. Just look at his posts.

The problem you get into when you start issuing XO's is you get the Conservatives teed off. It's (to the best of my knowledge) an unconstitutional end run around Congress.
I mean, if you are going to allow the President to rule by XO, then what do you even need Congress for?
That's what's wrong about XO's..
What he should do about AA is make his position crystal clear in the UM case. Leaving no doubt as to where he (and by extension the Party) stands on the matter.

Since Todd gets all his "info" from Ann Coulter's site, I can only assume that SHE, too, is uninformed on this issue.
I feel sorry for you, though. Now that you've questioned him, prepare to be covered up with twisted posts trying to prove he's right and you're wrong.

Henry's a good guy. I believe the word "cantankerous" comes to mind.
Don't hold me to the spelling.
