First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway

The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.

The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.

Howdy, folks.. I want to take a moment while I have a chance to once again bump this Freepathon and invite everyone to take part by donating or if you can't do so to bump these threads so those who can donate will know that this is going on.

Our internet service provider is in the middle of the weekend where they are changing their IP and DNS server addresses. This change doesn't affect us since we are on dial up but sometimes these things do have a tendency to go awry. So far, that hasn't been the case. I mentioned about it in the Canteen and Foxhole threads.

I joined Free Republic as a lurker in 2002 and later became a member on September 10th. I switched to FR from the Oklahoman.com forums which were repeatedly and deliberatly spammed by out of state Bill Clinton butt kissers and dope addicts who made it very known that whether we liked it or not they were gonna run the show and did not want to hear dissenting opinions. It became very unconfortable and got to the point where the only way to respond to their uncerimonious attacks was profanity and obscenity.

The forums have been revived with The Oklahoman and KWTV the CBS affiliate out of Oklahoma City but I'm very hesititant to go back for the reason that the same Clinton butt-kissers are running the forums and not representing the trune opinions of the vast majority of Oklahomans.

These situations bring about something that is quite obvious to everyone. That is that we as conservatives are in a continous battle not just for the hearts and minds of Americans but also for our rights to exits in our own communities and live our lives as we choose. There are certain elements amongest us that are looking to usurp these rights and try to turn this nation into another Zimbabwe. Some of these elements have signed up at FR and posted Pro-Clinton and anti-conservative anti-constitutional diatribes. Many of them have even tried to bring their own rules to FR and usurp Jimrob's authority. Thankfully none of them have suceeded. With the diligence of the Ad-mons controlling the activities of this website it continues to be a safe haven for conservatives and christians free of Democratic party propoganda and influence.

Your support of Free Republic will ensure that this safe haven continues to exist. That conservatives and christians will conntinue to enjoy acces to news and information that will help them make infoirmed and intelligent decisions affecting their everyday lives.

At 15% of our goal we are well on our way to meeting this goal and keeping FR alive. Keep up the good work.
