A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 1/7/03

As expected, President Bush announced his economic stimulus plan today in Chicago, and surprised many with how comprehensive and 'bold' it was. In the plan, 92 million taxpayers would receive, on average, a tax cut of $1,083 in 2003. The plan would also adjust the tax rates to 10%, 15%, 25%, 28%, 33%, 35%. Also today, the new Republican Senate majority was sworn in, and their first priority was to extend unemployment benefits, a plan the President supports. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Clooney's newest film has seemingly tanked!

Hubby just informed me that Julia Roberts' ("Republicans are somewhere in the dictionary between repugnant and reptile") film last year, Full Frontal, only grossed 1.5 million. Can anyone confirm this?

Wonder how her latest weird old spy film is going to do. Can't review it as after that slap in my face remark I haven't been to a Julia movie.

Vegy is okay only if you know how to do it. You have to at least eat eggs and/or milk products, as a Vegan (pure) vegetarian diet does not contain vitamin B12 and without that vitamin you get anemic and die eventually. People in India who are "pure" vegetarians survive because they drink water contaminated with cattle dung. Vitamin B12 only comes from animal sources.

There is another very important lesson that vegetarians need to learn--how to combine vegetables to make complete proteins out of the incomplete proteins that are present in vegetables. Animal products are complete proteins, containing all the building block amino acids that humans cannot manufacture themselves, thus the "essential" amino acids. (Proteins are made of strings of various amino acids.)

The Seventh Day Adventists know a lot about how to combine various vegetables with incomplete proteins with others to make a meal that has all the essential amino acids in it and thus gets more protein bang for the buck out of the vegetables. Also, a neat little paperback, Diet for a Small Planet by Lappe, is very educational about this subject and contains recipes.

It's much harder for men to be vegetarians because they need more protein to maintain their greater muscle mass, but women can get away with it if they do it right, until they become pregnant; and then they have to be very savvy not to deprive the growing fetus.

Did your neato postcard of the Prez come with postage due?

I would happily have paid more than 14 cents for it, and I was very touched at being thought of, Mike; but when does a postcard cost as much as a first class letter?

Crashed last night! Have ten acres next to the state forest. Have pictures. If I ever get a host for them, will post.

Katrina of course could only find fault. She is really Cruella de Ville.

Omigod, she is Cruella de Ville. That's perfect. I cannot stand to listen to her or look at her. She always has her lips pursed and with her squinty eyes and hubris, I just can't take it.

I did catch a bit of Matthews last night and I couldn't believe his hubris. Everyone on his show liked the Bush plan but him. Matthews is all over the board - sometimes he praises Bush, slams the Clintons or vice versa. Deep down, though, he is a dyed-in-the-wool liberal and always will be. I'm glad his show is tanking.

Make sure you take off your Tag line if you get into any serious discussions about the Economic Plan, OK? hehe

"...I hope Laura lets her hair down in
it a little...wouldn't it be fun if
she said just a little bit more about
their 'close relationship'...?"

oWf, here's what attracted him to her,
right from the start, according to W's
own words(can't recall the " source).

"First of all, I saw a beautiful woman
but then, there was something elusive
about her personality, and I admit I
was intrigued by it[her]."

Ever read that quote, or pondered it?

I think the "beautiful, ELUSIVE" girl
is the same now, just older. Privacy=
Laura Bush, it seems to me. And the
never-ending mystery(mystique?) of L.
lingers with him--even after so many
years of marriage and "being close".

I identify very much with the privacy
aspect of Laura. In that way, I am so
much like her.

Not to bring you down, oWf--it takes
all kinds of folks to make a world--
but I had a different thought process
about her "guarded" nature.

That's ALL...

I have no desire to do the vegetarian thing. I'm a card-carrying member of PETA (People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.)

However, for those who do wish to avoid animal protein, more power to them for their choice.

Oh, you know that I wouldn't want Laura to change a single bit! I'm definitely of the old school that what you don't see is more intriguing than what you do.....

Their 'close relationship' should definitely stay between them alone, even though hints of it come oozing out of both of them every time they're together.

I just wouldn't mind a little bit more info about the President's romantic side!

Hmmmmm...seems like a pretty fine line
to walk. And you KNOW, that the more
"little bit" she reveals, the more
curious SOME people will become to
learn still more. Ya think?

Thatt's what sells magazines! Unless we all share!

BTW did you see where she was out shopping at the Waco Home Depot? She's NOT going to lose touch with who she is......definately comfortable in her own skin.

LOVE THAT FAMILY!
