Yeah, we need to make sure we get at least 25 years out of each nomination.

The professional Bush haters on both sides are in for a miserable 6 years. Each petty little temper tantrum just make them bigger losers in life.

"... 30 other judicial nominees who failed to win confirmation in the previous Democratic-led chamber" (should say) were denied a hearing and/or confirmation vote by a bitter and partisan democrat majority on the senate judiciary committee.
He's not submitting nominees who were rejected, he's submitting nominees whom the democrats on the senate judiciary committee blocked from receiving a hearing in the senate. It was these 10 or 11 democrats that failed to do their constitutional duty, not the nominees failing to win confirmation.

"This is NOT your father's President Bush!" BIG smile...I love this! ;-)

Another point in W.'s strategery.....and why it's good to move these nominations now....the Dems are concerned most about the Supremes..the 2 or 3 nominees Bush may send up...if they jump on these 30 now, and defeat a few..well, it's harder to go after the SC nominees...

And he renominated them on PRINCIPLE. He said each nominee deserved a floor vote. Gee, where are all the Bush-haters? They don't seem to be interested in this thread. Hehehehe...

I couldn't agree more. Pickering wasn't a racist before Trent Lott's blunder, and he's not one now. Some of the chattering class was predicting President Bush wouldn't dare re-nominate Pickering, giving the black caucus and NAACP another chance to play the race card against republicans. Hot damn! Once again President Bush stands on principle.

What the RATS have yet to figure out is that their old lines are not going to work this time. When George W. Bush was running for President, he made several comments that have always stayed with me. One was that he wanted to come to Washington to get things done for the people, not just pass the time. And, at the 2000 convention, he said of the Dems: "We are facing something familiar...they are facing something new." My other favorite was: "They had their change...they have not led...we will."
God bless you, Mr. President. You are becoming beloved by many for your honesty, integrity and true grit.

Senator KKK and Senator Hollings are just two racist elitist rats in the Senate.
It is time to drag the dead racist rats back out into the light of reality. The senior Gore and Fullbright were full blown racists. Basically every rat senator from the South during the Eisenhower administration to the Johnstone administration were stone cold racists who wore a suit to congress and did the work of the Klan in the senate. They wore suits instead of sheets. Of course Dirty Byrd wore both sheets and the senate suit to do his racist activities.
If the rats want to make this a racist thing, it is past time to drag out the old dead Rat Racists and let the world see and hear their racist remarks and review their racist votes and read their racist comments on the senate floor.

"I don't think that's the case....it's only some butype of budget bills that can't be filabustered." That's the overall "Budget Resolution" which cannot be filibustered, it doesn't really have the force of law. I do think bringing the nominee to the floor for a vote requires only a simple majority.
Maybe Congressman BillyBob can help us here.
