I took my son to see Michael Moore live at the Roundhouse, in north London, before Christmas. The US radical and author of the best-selling book Stupid White Men was (mostly) clever, funny, angry, sharp, iconoclastic and sceptical about the lies and humbug processed by the US government and big business. Sure there were some flunked bits – you expect that, the troughs are part of the adventure, an evening with a well-worn rebel.

What we did not expect was to feel so enraged at one point that we almost walked out. It was when Moore went into a rant about how the passengers on the planes on 11 September were scaredy-cats because they were mostly white. If the passengers had included black men, he claimed, those killers, with their puny bodies and unimpressive small knives, would have been crushed by the dudes, who as we all know take no disrespect from anybody. God save us from such stupid white men, especially now, when in the US and the UK, black people's lives are being ripped to shreds by drugs, lawlessness, fear and frightful violence plus the endless circle of racism, exclusion and incarceration. This is not awesome, Mr Moore; it is a calamity, for descendants of slaves unimaginably more so.

The global Hate-America Cult exists for one reason only: it is profitable for the Hollywood/Madison Avenue Cultural Axis. Moore, like other pop-lefties, is a profiteer, an inciter of terrorism and murder, and a monstrous hypocrite.
Someday very soon, the real nature of this onslaught on humanity will be recognized for what it is. Moore and the other culture criminals must be held to account, as their predecessor and inspiration, Julius Streicher, was held to account at Nuremberg. Free speech does not protect the incitement of murder and genocide, we have 200+ years of precedent for this.

Without fear is it bravery?

Probably not but then again there are all kinds of fear and consequently bravery. Confidence off-sets fear which is why the military emphasizes confidence building exercises. If a small person resists or overcomes a bigger person, is it bravery? How about if the former is a martial arts master? How about if both are? I think that the best aspect is to aspire to bravery as well as the other graces like consideration, courtesey etc.

thanks for posting this ... the actions are all around us, accelerating and escalating. Our own youth,in the U S, that joins gangs, currently is brought up to think killing is cool. The man. No expectations of living long. etc. Seems very like the mind treatment the terrorists have taught their youth.

Senseless killing is in our midst, everywhere, and we look the other way and ignore it's reality or shrug our shoulders and say, "what can I do?" Dangerous times.

This idiot is even more idiotic than I realized! To say that 'x' number of people were laid-off or fired by white CEOs and that PVC and PCBs were invented by whites without realizing the oter side of the equation that the same people were hired or that these inventions have a beneficial side IS STUPIDITY INCARNATE! I think this is true of the pop-left in general. Helen Thomas's Goebbels-style outburst yesterday at the White House, the peace-hypocrite collective's plans for a violent take-over of Seattle, the recruitment of human shields for Saddam's Army, are further evidence of a subculture bent on its own destruction. Like all authoritarians, they must eventually abandon the pretense of rational discourse, and reduce all issues to a decision by force. That day has come. In this, they are trapped by their own ideology; driving themselves toward a showdown they cannot win.

I thought back to that terrible morning and remembered my first thought as I saw the plane hit the WTC. "Why didn't anyone (passengers, flight crew) stop it?". My second thought that followed immediately answered my first thought "They didn't realise they were part of a suicide mission". They probably did what was demanded and never guessed it wasn't a textbook highjacking where they would be bartered for and exchanged for jailed friends of the terrorists. I don't think many Americans could have imagined such a horrible fate as those who died that day experienced. I didn't. Now we know what lengths terrorists will go to. We have to imagine scenerios that create fear (for me anyway) but prepare us for bravery and even sacrifice to protect strangers and loved ones alike.


Another thought : I wonder how brave Mr. Moore would have been on one of those planes?
