I took my son to see Michael Moore live at the Roundhouse, in north London, before Christmas. The US radical and author of the best-selling book Stupid White Men was (mostly) clever, funny, angry, sharp, iconoclastic and sceptical about the lies and humbug processed by the US government and big business. Sure there were some flunked bits – you expect that, the troughs are part of the adventure, an evening with a well-worn rebel.
What we did not expect was to feel so enraged at one point that we almost walked out. It was when Moore went into a rant about how the passengers on the planes on 11 September were scaredy-cats because they were mostly white. If the passengers had included black men, he claimed, those killers, with their puny bodies and unimpressive small knives, would have been crushed by the dudes, who as we all know take no disrespect from anybody. God save us from such stupid white men, especially now, when in the US and the UK, black people's lives are being ripped to shreds by drugs, lawlessness, fear and frightful violence plus the endless circle of racism, exclusion and incarceration. This is not awesome, Mr Moore; it is a calamity, for descendants of slaves unimaginably more so.

I feel the same way, but I would hesitate to do such a dangerous thing. There simply is no way of predicting which way such a huge pile of $&!t would topple when hit....
Good thought but one that resists easy answer IMHO. There is a saying that 7 out of 10 are potential Medal of Honor winners. Audie Murphy, the most decorated US Soldier of WW2, was a small guy who was almost assigned to a non-combat job. I'm nauseated that I put these two names together but in times of crisis it is not politics or biases that come to the fore, it is the core character that comes out. I know what I think, but I KNOW I could be completely WRONG!
1) One of the white male sissies he lambastes or
2) Should be in the military defending his country against the terrorists.
All in all I think that the Army is much better without him.
Maybe he should just offer himself as a hostage to terrorism. The islamists hate pork anyway.

VERY funny SNL sketch. They cut from "Donahue" to commerical: a blue screen with a phone number to call in order "to advertise here". Then there was an interview with "Babs" via remote. The camera lens was slathered so think with vaseline that only a shapless blob could be made out. LOL! I thought I was going to need oxygen.

However, on flight 93, several white men were ringleaders of the passenger revolt. Did he forget this?
on the way in to town today, i saw 2 bumperstickers on a PU truck: 1. Proud to be a warrior (with clenched RED fist holding scalping knife) and 2. proud to be Cherokee.
