PALOMINAS - Citizens taking the task of border patrol into their own hands didn't encounter any illegal immigrants yesterday, but the group's founder called the mission a success.
About 10 volunteers showed up to hike along the Mexican border as part of Civil Homeland Defense, the group organized by Tombstone Tumbleweed newspaper owner Chris Simcox, 42. Another six people were on hand, "checking out" the group, they said. Some represented similar groups interested in immigration law enforcement, indicating a potential for collaboration, Simcox said.

Hiking is pretty tough, why aren't they riding horses?

goodness, yes. i was thinking along the lines of an 800 yd. scoped rifle.
come to think of it, i don't own any camo. none.
however, night vision and flare launchers are readily available. Lord, it wouldn't take much to shut down the border.

To All:
When R.Rescue was in Arizona in October we found that some terrain is not even used for illegals looking for work, but instead offered great cover for "mules" carrying drugs on their backs. Once their "load" is dropped (at a pre-arranged spot) they make themselves noticeable somewhere else for their "limo" ride back by Border Patrol "taxi." Once deposited back into their homeland, at our expense, they start all over again.
Lovely, don't you think?
Many of these groups actually have cars/trucks/vans waiting for them on the northern side. Their pick-ups have cell phones and are quite timely. If the criminal crossers experience hypothermia or dehydration after being caught by B.P., they are wisked away to Indian Reservation clinics or Federally funded facilities for treatment. These same Indian reservation clinics are going broke and cannot service their own people.
I really, really think that Chris' group ought to have protection. The border is becoming the turnstile of the Drug Cartel's and the seriously dangerous types are coming over now. They know they have no Federal opposition. Something is very SICK about our Government and its lack of love for Americans. I'm truly bothered about the future of sovereignty for our country.

By the way....10 volunteers is just the start. Many times the less brave have to see how the first "braver" group fares.
When they see that the Fed's didn't swoop down to throw the volunteers into detention camps, they come out of hiding to become very capable American citizen patrols.
I continue to get recruits for our California Chapter of R.Rescue. The word is spreading.

Lord, it wouldn't take much to shut down the border. Just a couple of small teams that are not politically correct can do the job.

"Lets hope some far out scary rumors sweep Mexico"
That's actually the best outcome here. Let them just think we are crazy and maybe they won't invade.

damn. where were y'all when i was young, unattached, self-sufficient, and well armed.
now the only difference is i have to work, i've got kids, i'm hundreds of miles from the border and i'm old.
i'm gonna have to hit and hurt 'em from here, as i know you're doin.
To: B4Ranch
This county is full of the politically incorrect. There are far more people watching the border than just those in the organized groups.

Let them just think we are crazy and maybe they won't invade. horseshit. let them think we are crazy and maybe we won't invade.

I'm nervous about these people putting themselves in danger to do what should be our government's primary job...to defend us from invasion. At a time when hundreds of thousands of US citizens can't find jobs, all non-citizens, legal and illegal, should be sent home if there is a citizen who will do their job, for the wages/benefits that other US citizens get for that job. I really think our safety would be greater if the troops being used all over the world came home and defended our borders.
So, what can we do? Here's what I'm thinking:
(1)Contact your US Senators and your Representative, demanding that these people doing the patrolling, at the very minimum, have military protection.
(2)Construct an email for everyone in you computer address books, informing them of the US citizens who have had to take it upon themselves to defend our borders. Ask all of them to write to their representatives, demanding that the government do its job. Ask them to forward this to their friends...
We have to do more than preach to the choir here. It's time to get the word out. I really think this will resonate with a lot of people who don't like some of the foreign adventures our military is committed to.-

It's a much bigger job than most people realize. Chris Simcox is learning what a lot of us in Cochise County found out a long time ago.
Unless the illegals are crossing open grassland, they are practically invisible. The hug the dry washes and stay in the scrub. At ground level, you could have 50 illegals fifty yards away and never know it.
I had this brought home to me a few years back in an amusing fashion. There used to be an impromptu shooting range where Chris was operating this weekend. It was just a wide dry wash with a tall northern face. You didn't have to worry about an errant shot going two miles and wasting a little old lady.
I went out one Saturday and found it deserted except for a Border Patrol vehicle and two agents working their binoculars. They left when I started setting up. On my first shot, I got a chorus of screams from my left and 30 illegals with their hands up. Men, women, and children -- ages ranging from 2 to 50+. They had been hiding less than 30 yards from the BP guys in a depression surrounded by grass and foot-tall shrubbery.
An older gent finally came up close and asked if I was hunting Mexicans. That was a much more innocent time -- no coyote, and they readily admitted they were headed for LA. I topped off their water, let a few of the older guys try their luck with an AK-47, and sent them off to LaLa Land. Nice bunch and I truly wish them luck. Back then it was a game.
About two years later, two women (late 20s and cute as only a latina can be) stumbled out in front of me on the highway. They had been part of larger group, but had ducked down a wash to answer the call of nature and gotten disoriented and lost -- with no water. At their insistence, I dropped them off about a quarter mile from the BP checkpoint and they headed home for Mexico.
The current reality is not nearly so friendly.
If I go near the border now, I'm armed; usually with a .45 strapped to my right thigh, something similar under the left arm pit, and a 12 gauge and/or AR-15 behind the front seat with copious ammo. I've never had to use any of them. My preferred weapons are a Sony digital camera, GPS, and cell phone.

Raoul Grijalva and Isabel Garcia in Tucson will go on TV and scream for State and Federal intervention against everyone in Cochise County. No surprise there. Both Grijalva and Garcia are agents of the Mexican government.

>>Fox News ran a segment . . . with none of the "right-wing militia" crap that would have been done on the networks.
On the general topic of FNC - they're still really an amazement. Last night their Washington reporter was talking about the Dem's pre-emptive budget/economic plan, and he made a statement along the lines of "and their press conference was full of the standard class-warfare rhetoric." I was ROFLOL!
