This begs for a lawsuit. These Ninja wannabe's just can't stop can they. I guess they just don't understand how juvinile and petty this makes them look.

Actually, I think they should outlaw ALL paintball equipment and public activities -- what the hell are you trying to teach your kids!!!

It'd be more effective if this notice were edited for grammar, spelling, etc.

Drop the name calling and trim it down to just the facts.

What do these kids think that they are doing? Shouldn't they be in gangs like other city kids? I think that the police have it right. Take away activities like this, get the kids into gangs where they belong. Then spend lots of tax dollars with something like midnight basketball, you know, something that really works.

Following is what I sent to the e-mail address, but I included my full name and town and state:

If what I have been reading is correct, your police department called out a SWAT team with MP5s to stop some people from playing paintball. They actually aimed loaded weapons at people who were playing a game on a lot where they had permission from the property owner to play?

What's going on in Florida, anyway? We lived there for several years, and have always had a soft spot in our hearts for Florida, but this sounds very strange. An explanation would be appreciated.

Sledge,

Ask the police chief and the particular officer involved if they have homesteaded their houses. And give them printouts of the complete stories from the following URL's:

http://www.washtimes.com/national/20021009-68493546.htm

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/marshall/1542463

The Kmart raid by Houston police under the idiot leadership of Captain Aguirre will cost the Houston taxpayers somewhere between $20 million and $100 million.

You also need a lawyer. Say the magic words "42 USC 1988 attorney fee" to him. Police misconduct lawsuits used to be part of my private practice.

How do the police, LEGALLY, tell a property owner what he can do with his property?

It sounds like you're having alittle bit of a problem. Something having to do with paintball and police?

Try using some punctuation with a dash of grammar and spell check. Your ranting would be much more effective if you were coherent.

Sorry, but you cought me at precisely the wrong time.

Yesterday, as I was driving between towns, some little paintballer tagged my white truck with a pink paintball. I didn't notice it until I got to the town and stepped out of my truck. It was on the side of the bed.

I am not so upset with the paint ball, because it will wash off, as I am with the callus disregard the young find with other peoples property. He (or she) could have just as easily hit the windshield of my truck, causing me to lose control. Or if my side window was down, hitting me.

Remember a few years ago, when the kid (I believe he was in Singapore) keyed some cars and was caned? Trust me, if I had seen the kid that hit my truck with the paintball, yesterday, caning would have been the least of his problems.

OK, rant over.

You need to get out of Florida and move west, where the range is free, miles and miles of it. They have massive paintball wars in the mountains west of Salt Lake City. I am a big supporter of paintball activities, but responsible paintball activities.

This flagrant abuse of police power is frightening. If no laws were being broken they are way out of line and it should be persued. Does Coconut Creek have a SWAT team?
Or was it the Broward Sherriff's dept. headed by Ken Jenne, Broward's little Napoleon. I'd raise all kinds of hell.

I have no doubt the cop got bent way out of shape when he saw how the kids were learning tactics and survival skills they would need against an armed enemy. I further bet he pooped his pants when he saw how accurate the paintballers were. Then he wet his pants when he got intimidated by the sophistication and appearance of the paintball guns. Cowards and tyrants should wear diapers and rubber pants.
