I'm stunned. Connie appeared to have never heard of the term, "RINO."

Thanks for the alert; football calls this afternoon! :)

IT SOUNDS LIKE HER 'ROTUNDA' ACTION IS THE
WORK OF THE FIRST FREEPER. WE NEED A
MT. RUSHMORE VEHICLE FOR HER.

If you're an insomniac you can see it at Midnight (E).
To: seenenuf
I missed that. What was that about?
To: leadpenny
Connie showed an old picture of Schlafy (70's?), where she was standing in the rotunda of the ILL. capitol, holding a
bull-horn, with tons of signs behind here, protesting against I.R.A. The pix is excellent as the photographer also captured the height of the rotunda - I think they said 300 feet.

I did catch a glimpse of that pic. Now that I am a veteran FReeper, I know the good feeling of demonstrating for or against something.

Phyllis was just trapped into saying there were no 'African-Americans on her staff.
Liberal interviewer.....can't stand her!

I have been watching all the C-Span staff for at least 10 years, and aware of bias by some. In my opinion Connie is firmly in the middle - a true professional.

You might be right but I have not seen her crack a smile yet to this delightful woman.

It's her attempt to not show any bias, to either side. I wish I was as good with my poker face.

I cannot believe that the last 'caller' was not set up in advance to embarrass Phyllis about her tax exampt foundation.
Connie held the call until the last minute and then allowed the caller to go on and on.....
What'd you think?

I'm inclined to agree. However, we don't know who was
producing the show, and if that was an inside deal. I have got through for one call, years ago, and they only confirmed my location, not POV.
I would like to know if that has changed.
In the past 2 or 3 years, I have become very bored with
Washington Journal, when they have a dumb generic question, i.e., "Do you agree with...etc". It's about as boring as reading 'bump' on FR.

Schalfly hit her out of the ball park when she said she had not hired the caller to dictate the agenda of the Eagle Forum. In any case, the caller made an astonishingly weak case against the tax exempt status, like not having a list of women ready. What a laugh. Atleast that stupid woman who called should know it will take something bigger than that to even raise an issue with the tax exempt status.

I was waiting for the caller to suggest that hillary should on top of the list of women for presidential candidate.....that would have gotten a smile out of Connie, I am sure.

Talk about getting bored with the TV.......Fox is beating the heck out of the Clonaid story.
What's with them.........don't they have anything else to report?

WOW! SHE IS SIMPLY INSPIRATIONAL. I confess I knew nothing about the depth of her work. When Ann Coulter was on Booknotes, Ann gave credit to Mrs. Schlafly for carrying the conservative banner for so many years. I first heard of her during the fight against the Equal Rights Amendment. I only became recently aware of all the books she's written. What a treasure she is. She's been fighting the Northeastern Rockefeller Republicans for decades.
