OK...I get it.

Good reply! All kudos to State. They WON this thing no matter what the Miami nitpickers say (C'mon guys, be honest. If it wasn't the 'Canes you'd be carping about a team that gave up the ball that many times!)
But I agree with you, Prentice, about USC. What a great performance. I think the Trojans proved the Best of the Bowls.
This coming from a Nebraska native. We better get it together next year. If we do get back in bizness -- watch out, y'all!

I've always admired Nebraska football, it was painful for me to see them slumping. Nebraska having a good football team is kind of like the sun coming up everyday, it's just supposed to happen.

The Browns were a couple of bonehead plays away from winning their division. They're a good team and I expect them to win their game.
I'd also like to see them go on to Oakland and beat them, too.
To: PRND21
Yes, you shut us down after halftime. Both teams made great strides this year. The Trojans looked awesome last night against a good Iowa team. It was 10-10 at the half. I told my wife, look out for SC in the second half, they just get stronger and stronger.
IMHO, Pete Carroll is very close to his players and it shows. Super offense - great defense. Congrats on a superb season.
Could be a classic when y'all come to The Jungle! WAR EAGLE!

Thanks for the sympathy! It was an EXTREMELY painful year for the Nebraska faithful! A sportscaster friend of mine called me when it became apparent the Huskers weren't world-beaters this year, to repeat his jibe that, "The 'N' on the helmet stands for 'Nowledge.'" Sigh. It's been a lousy campaign!
To repeat, however, nice going Buckeyes!

"Not another... Do you think that wrapping your arms around the offensive player 5 yds past the line of scrimmage is legal? I don't, and the ref didn't either when he called 'holding - pass interference'. Go Blue! "
As Dan Fouts said -you'd have a point if the call was for "holding". It wasn't. From what I saw, though, all the contact was within the first 5 yards.
Irrelevant, nontheless as that is Football! You gotta take it with or without the bad calls.
Great Game! Congrats OSU and Congrats Big 10 and the increase in respect of all Big 10 schools
Go Blue!

I hate to say this, but your program ain't gonna turn it around as fast as say, Oklahoma's. Get used to some lean years. But just don't lose to the Cyclones, please. We're all tired of that loser team getting pumped up thinking they're more than just the Rutgers of the Midwest.
There are some schools, such as Iowa State, that need to be shoved into the MAC or that behemouth conference that includes both Hawaii and Rice.
To: JennysCool
I don't see Nebraska staying down for long. Too much pride there.
But 'til they get back to form your welcome to cheer for the Buckeyes! It's been a long time for us.

great game, but McGahee...gotta pray for that guy. That was brutal.

I concur. McGahee's injury looks awful. Hate to see that kid end his career because of it.
To: Prentice
The worst call was the first down for Miami at the 35 when the player
the ball and the defender was at the furtheast the 34 on third and many

Sweet indeed!
If ever there was a genuine VICTORY it was this one.
It was a hard fought, evenly played game that in the end was won by Ohio State because Miami needed to score and they were STOPPED by a great defense!
I was 18 years old, and Neil Armstrong (from OHIO) had not yet walked on the moon when this happened last.
I'm not going to let these SILLY whiners keep me from the sheer JOY I'm feeling over this NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! :o)

How SWEET it is!!!
The National Championship shirts and hats have already been made.........our family will be out buying them in the morning!!
It's been a LONG time coming!

Miami got hosed. No way was that pass interference in the first overtime. The game should have ended there. It was an Al Gore recount.Exactly. I've watched my last college football game as a result of this game. How ridiculous for these kids to bust their asses and WIN the game, to have it taken away by a senile old bastard who will be bagging groceries until the next football season starts. The referee closest to the play called it incomplete, they even drew an "X" on the guy during the replay and the announcer said it was a bad call. Watching this game was a waste of time when the result ends up flawed.

I'm a Michigan fan (cuz I grew up and went to school there) and a Penn State fan (cuz I teach there), but when OSU is playing for the national title, I'm a Buckeye fan too! Way to go Bucks!
