Time for a Freeper Headline Poll.

My local fishwrap and birdcage liner (the Atlanta Urinal & Constipation) had above-the-fold, full width headline "Bush Targets Medicare".

This is a pretty left-biased headline. What did other newspapers publish on this Medicare topic. Headline and location of story in the paper?

I can't even FIND the story in the Indianapolis paper!! I have been all over their web site, and it is not to be found!

Probably it will show up tomorrow with a creative headline. I will check this thread later to see what contributions have come in from across the nation.

Might I suggest that people identify the paper and the city from which it comes? That way we would avoid duplication and would have an idea of where the worst cases are.

Great idea..thanks!

The AJC online doesn't have it posted yet. They're still stuck on "Bush Returns to Tax Cuts (for the wealthy)".

Boy if "Bush Targets Medicare" is your best example of media bias, then we have won. There is nothing inaccurate in that statement. You are just making your own fearful inference about what it means.

In the last three weeks, the president has told his advisers and congressional leaders that he wants to promote competition in Medicare

Sounds good to me. Competition brings a lower price, less government fraud and waste, and a better product.
Next, move on to school choice.
If we've ever had a chance to create a better America, it's now. Go for it!

This should be a new FR daily feature - finding and posting the most outrageously liberal fishwrap headlines and picking a winner (or loser, depending on how you look at it.

There are some alternative plans out there now. But what they do is cut benefits that people don't realize they need and offer benefits that people think they need but they really don't.

The average individual doesn't have enough information or time to research to make the decision. Therefore Health Insurance should be relatively comprehensive.

So do they hold down costs in the short-run? Cost to the Government yes. Total costs of healthcare, I don't think so. It just means people run out of money quicker and end up on Medicaid. Or they don't get treated and end up in the Hospital or Nursing Home costing them and taxpayers thousands more.

Bush should allow Home Health's to flourish and cut through the red tape for providers. Intermittent care in a patient's home costs a fraction of either a nursing home or a hospital. The patients are happier, recover faster and are healthier.

Unfortunately the government looks at the growth in spending on Home Care and thinks it's a problem instead of realising how much they are saving by avoiding hospital and nursing home stays.
